The Umbrella Academy Recap: 2.07 ‘Öga for Öga’

In the previous episode, The Handler offers Five a deal: kill the Commission’s board members and she’ll help get the Hargreeves siblings home. Meanwhile, Allison comes clean to Raymond about her abilities; Klaus is unable to stop Dave from enlisting; Ben realises his able to possess Klaus. The siblings all gather to attend their father’s ‘light supper’ with a brief show of their abilities, but he’s not convinced. Diego then sees Grace outside and hopes that she can help bring Reginald to reason, while Sissy meets with Vanya and they decide to be together, but Carl watches on and sees them kiss. Causing more drama, The Handler gives the Swedes the location of Diego, but they kill Elliott when Diego isn’t there.

A Little Bloody Mess

Five (Aidan Gallagher) arrives in 1982 Wisconsin and asks where the Midwest Soybean Society is meeting and loses his cool at one point trying to get a chocolate out of a vending machine. Grabbing an axe, Five goes into the boardroom and kills all of the board members. He then races after AJ and smashes his fish bowl head in. The Handler (Kate Walsh) meets with Five, giving her AJ in a plastic bag and tells her he’s done with the killing. She gives one of the Commission’s briefcases to Five and says he has 90 minutes to use it, but he needs more time since his siblings are scattered across the city.

At the Commission, its workers are called together and The Handler informs them that the board members have been assassinated, so she’ll be taking control.

Back at Elliott’s Diego (David Castañeda) thinks Elliott was getting too close to the truth and wonders what ‘Oga Foroga’ means, and Luther (Tom Hopper) wonders if it’s a name. Looking in the directory, he finds an Olga Foroga so they call her and Diego threatens her. However, Five arrives, sees Elliott dead, and tells them it’s Swedish for ‘eye for an eye’. Seeing the blood on Five, the brothers wonder what Five has done now. He tells the pair to get the rest of their siblings as they have a way home, but Diego is focused on JFK until he decides he needs to say goodbye to Lila. With that, Five says she’s part of the Commission.

Meanwhile at the farm, Carl (Stephen Bogaert) wants Vanya (Ellen Page) to give him a lift. When they get there, Carl begins telling a story and essentially says Vanya is a disease and unnatural. He says he won’t allow it and then threatens Harlan by saying he’ll send him to a facility if Vanya doesn’t leave. Driving back to the farm, Five finds Vanya and says they have to leave, but she wants to bring Sissy and Harlan except Five can’t take the risk.

A Little Possession

Ben (Justin H. Min) is eyeing off Klaus (Robert Sheehan), who has been trying to stay awake so Ben doesn’t take over his body. Ben tells Klaus that he wants to talk to Jill, the young woman he’s been crushing on since Mexico.

Klaus gives Ben some rules including not to cut his hair, hands off the lower extremities, and that he’s dairy free. Ben then jumps into his body and relishes in every sensation now that he can feel. Jill finds him and the pair make dirt angels and realises that Klaus is ‘dorkier’ at the moment. Ben-Klaus begins telling her things he’s noticed about her and asks if he can smell her hair. Jill then counters by asking if he wants to have sex, but sadly Ben learns Klaus had a threesome with Keechie and Jill the week prior. Diego then interrupts and says they have to go. Ben is able to convince Diego that he’s in Klaus’s body and Diego suggests he remains in control since Klaus isn’t responsible and before he leaves, Diego tells Ben-Klaus to meet in the alley in 30 minutes.

It seems the protest got some attention as Robert Kennedy’s people wants to meet with Raymond (Yusuf Gatewood) and the group. Later on, Allison arrives home to find Luther there and he tells her she has 42 minutes until they leave. Allison immediately wonders about seeing Claire, her daughter, again, but she also doesn’t know if she can return home. Raymond walks in to find her hugging Luther.

A Little Betrayal

Vanya tells Sissy they have to leave as Carl knows about them, so she agrees and Sissy runs back to get the money she’s stashed away. The three are driving when they see a police roadblock ahead and Vanya learns Sissy left a note. Sissy’s brother Jerry is one of the officers and demands Vanya gets out of the car when Vanya uses her abilities to take them all down, but Jerry gets back up and knocks her out.

As for Allison, she tells Raymond everything and asks if he’ll come, but he can’t leave the movement behind. She offers to make him forget her, but he says no and she starts to leave until she opens the door to Axel (Kris Holden-Ried) and Otto (Jason Bryden) who immediately punch her in the throat. Axel and Raymond face off while Allison tries to get her voice back and stabs Otto in the eye.

Raymond then stabs Axel in the leg and Allison manages to tell him ‘I heard a rumour that you killed your brother’. Although Axel tries to fight it, he strangles Otto to death and leaves.

Meanwhile, The Handler pops AJ into a fish bowl and shows Lila (Ritu Arya) some new uniforms, but she’s not interested so The Handler says she’ll be the Commission’s head of security. Lila later finds Diego and he confronts her about her lies whilst he keepings digging a hole to bury Elliott. She pulls out a flask and toasts to Elliott before taking a sip, and Diego follows, but he’s been dosed. At the Commission, Lila introduces Diego to her mother and then Diego as her boyfriend.

Klaus continues to try and regain control and Ben leaves Keechie (Dov Tiefenbach) with some parting words of wisdom—”Oh, my god, we’re back again. Brothers, sisters, everybody sing! We’re gonna bring you the flavour. We’re gonna show you how.” On the way to the alley, Klaus and Ben face off.

Five and Luther are in the alley with Ben-Klaus arriving, but Ben is shortly evicted from Klaus’s body. With only half the siblings there, they’ve lost their chance to go back to 2019.
