The 100 Recap: 7.16 ‘The Last War’

Jackson, Raven, Jon and Emori reach Sanctum and hurry into the infirmary. They shock her heart twice before she draws breath again, she’s weak but alive.

Clarke kills her way to the stone room but they’re too late. Bill has already started the test. There he sees his daughter but she informs him that she isn’t her, the person chooses who they manifest as and Bill chose his daughter. She is his judge, making him realise that they were right, it’s not a war but rather a test that one needs to pass. After being asked the first question, this one is about love, Clarke arrives and shoots him point blank in the head before he can answer.

Jordan and Hope share a kiss but a bridge opens interrupting them before it can go any further. Raven comes through, with Nikki and the rest of the convicts at her side. Raven thanks her for it and she tells her that it’s what Hatch would have done. Their animosity seems to have dissipated. Nikki finds Echo and Nylah. They go to Bardo and meet Bill’s army. Jordan and Indra and the others run for cover, serving as a distraction for Echo and Raven to smuggle themselves into the compound.

Miller meets up with Jackson and Jon. They try to pull the rod out but she starts to bleed profusely. Jackson stops working on her and Jon yells at him to keep going. He tells him that it won’t matter, there’s nothing he can do anymore. She’s gone. Jon goes for a scalpel and tells them that he’s going to take her mind drive out so that he can see her again even if that means he will die soon after. Because two minds can’t share one body forever. He doesn’t care. Jackson steps in after Miller tells him that if it were him in Jon shoes he would do anything to see him (Jackson) again. Understanding where Jon is coming from, he helps him harvest her drive and puts it into Jon.

Echo and Raven interrupt a heart to heart between Levitt and Octavia.

Clarke is still stuck in the test. There she sees her judge. It’s Lexa. She tells her that they can’t stop once it was set in motion, so Clarke inadvertently took Bill’s spot and must finish the test if she wants to leave this weird area she’s in.

Emori wakes up in a room overlooking the desert. They’re sharing his mindscape. She doesn’t want him to throw his life away and she tells him that this isn’t ok. He won’t listen. Music starts to play and they dance.

Clarke arrives back in the stone room, Raven waiting. Clarke tells her that she failed. She goes back to Madi. Raven touches the pulsing stone, transporting her to the arc with Abby as her judge.

Sheidheda shoots at Bill’s army. Levitt runs in to tell them to stop. Seeing them listen forces Sheidheda to shoot him. Octavia goes in after him. Echo helps her bring him to safety. Jordan and Hope find them safely now in the woods. Hope helps Echo with her bullet wound, sustained shortly after she followed Octavia into the fray. Jordan takes over to help Levitt as Octavia goes to stop this once and for all. She tells Indra to stop. Indra finds Sheidheda as he tries to rally her people and cause a blood bath. She obliterates him with a massive gun, solving that problem. Octavia gives a speech and Indra relinquishes her weapons. Octavia tells them the only way to win is to not fight. Both sides surrender. For all mankind.

Octavia rushes back to Echo and Levitt. Echo starts to glow, then Levitt and then they disappear in a bright, orange orb up to the sky. The same then happens with Jordan and Hope. Then everyone starts to do the same. Everyone except Clarke. She will never transcend because she has been the only person to ever commit a murder during the test. According to Lexa, they do have a choice to come back. Clarke shouts that she doesn’t want to be alone. Then she comes across Madi’s dog and follows it down to the stream where she finds all of her friends making camp. Lexa tells her that there won’t be any offspring, that they’ll be stuck in a limbo but it’s their choice. She joins them and they all smile as they are now finally reunited, once more in harmony.

That’s it! The 100 is officially over. It’s incredibly sad to see this show end, but all things considered, I think it ended as well as could be expected. If you still miss these characters and want something similar, check out Kass Morgan’s books that this show is based on! It’s different, but just as good!
