In the previous episode, Five accidentally drops all of his siblings off in different years: Ben and Klaus in 1960, Allison in 1961, Luther in 1962, Diego in September 1963, and Vanya in October 1963, whilst he lands in November 1963. Hazel informs Five of another apocalypse and they must stop it, meanwhile, it seems the Hargreeves siblings have a trio of assassins after them even with their new lives since Diego is in a mental institution, Allison is married, Vanya has lost her memories, Luther is a bodyguard, and Klaus is…well Klaus.
She’s Alive! He’s Back!
The second episode kicks off with a replay of Hazel (Cameron Britton) shooting The Handler (Kate Walsh) in the head. She’s then seen being wheeled through a corridor, headed for the incinerator, but she’s alive! Three months later, she’s back at The Commission headquarters, but she’s informed by AJ (whom has the body of a man and a fish tank with a fish for a head) that she’s been demoted. She promises to make it right, but she will now be supervised by Herb (Ken Hall), and has Five’s old desk.
Five (Aidan Gallagher) learns that Luther (Tom Hopper) is the ‘bodyman’ to Mr. Ruby, whom is the gangster that killed Oswald. Five apologises for everything to Luther and needs his help, but Luther won’t have it and goes to take care of Carl (Stephen Bogaert), who is still making a nuisance. Five then finds the tape that Hazel stashed in his pocket before he was killed, which says ‘Frankel Footage, 11/22/63’.
Diego (David Castañeda) and Lila (Ritu Arya) continue their escape and he steals some clothes and says they need to split up. However, Lila steals a car and they leave together. Meanwhile, Five is back at Elliott’s (Kevin Rankin) asking if he can develop the Frankel Footage tape when he overhears about Diego being on the run. Diego tells Lila about his plan to cut off Oswald’s trigger finger when Five appears in the backseat. Reluctantly, Diego agrees to go with Five and he’ll be bringing Lila with him.
Diego, Lila, and Five return to Elliot’s and Elliot is holding a gun and asking about the Frankel Footage, but Diego and Five disarm him. They then watch the tape, which shows Dan and Edna Frankel (George Wyner and Mindy Sterling) during the moment that JFK was shot. However, they notice a certain someone…Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore).
Siblings Reunited…and Siblings Almost Reunited
Vanya (Ellen Page) looks over all of the missing person ads while Sissy (Marin Ireland) searches for her keys as she needs to go pick Carl up. However, Harlan (Justin Paul Kelly) comes in and becomes distressed when his mother won’t read to him, so Vanya offers to pick up Carl. She finds a very drunk Carl outside, whilst Luther finds Carl’s wallet and sees Vanya leaving.
Harlan gestures to Vanya that he wants to play hide-and-seek when Luther pulls up at the house, whilst recalling all the events that have occurred and holding a gun. Searching for Harlan, Luther thinks Vanya is lying about her memory loss and he’s completely torn up about what happened before he apologises. Sissy approaches Luther with a gun and he returns Carl’s wallet that he left at the Carousel Club.
The Swedish assassin triplets (Kris Holden-Ried as Axel, Jason Bryden as Otto, and Tom Sinclair as Oscar) arrive at Allison’s (Emmy Raver-Lampman) house and she’s asleep on the couch with Raymond Chestnut (Yusuf Gatewood). However, the police arrive guns pointed and accuse him of assault and battery. She goes to use her powers, but Raymond convinces her that it’ll be okay. The Swedes watch on, whilst Oscar drinks a pearlescent milky substance.
At the police station, Allison has been waiting for two hours and she sees another man, Keechie (Dov Tiefenbach), taken into lock up. Keechie is thrilled when he happens upon Klaus (Robert Sheehan) who apparently changed his life. Next thing we know, Klaus is telling the man to “don’t go chasing waterfalls, stick to the rivers and the lakes that you’re used to…”, sounds just a tad familiar? Raymond and Klaus then end up talking to one another before Klaus is freed.
A Mission, A Memory, and A Reunion
In his tighty-whities, Axel is cooking, whilst his siblings throw a knife at various body parts on each other. A new mission for The Swedes arrives from The Commission, and it contains a picture of Vanya.
Allison finally speaks with Raymond and he asks her about why she was saying ‘I heard a rumour’, which throws her off. As she’s leaving, she sees that Keechie has ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ tattoos on the palm of his hands, and apparently all of the ‘children of the prophet’ have them.
At night, Klaus breaks into a mansion where all of the furniture is covered with sheets and there’s a painting of himself on the wall. Meanwhile, Vanya tells Sissy about what happened with Luther and the pair share a brief moment while she looks at Vanya’s hands. Later on, Vanya recalls some memories and drives off.
Back at Elliot’s, Diego is assuming their father killed JFK, so they decide to find him, but how? Ah, a telephone book. Before they leave, Diego checks on Lila who is worrying that she’s going crazy again, so he reassures her.
Five and Diego arrive at the building and they think it’s a front since the furniture is covered in dust. The pair split up, but Diego hears footsteps and follows a man walking away. Meanwhile, Five comes across a young Pogo who attacks him. Diego is then attacked by the man and an epic fight ensues to the sound of ‘I’m A Man’ by The Spencer. Diego then realises it’s a young version of his father and Reginald stabs Diego. He then watches as his father and a young Pogo walk away.
