The 100 Recap: 6.12 ‘The Adjustment Protocol’

The 100 The Adjustment Protocol 6.12

Last week’s episode left off with Clarke going back into the compound as ‘Jo’ while the others wait right outside the shield perimeter for her to disarm it and flood the compound.

The episode kicks off with Madi threatening Russell and ‘Jo’, saying that they will all burn. Raven, Abby, and Jackson are called in to subdue her and that’s when Abby sets sight on her daughter. She breaks down but manages to recover and tells Russell that she’ll kill him for this. He shrugs it off like it was nothing and moves on without a second thought.

They have four doses of the Nightblood serum but Russell demands two more because he’s resurrecting six more Primes by the end of the night. Abby insists Madi won’t survive that. Russell offers his healers to takeover if it’ll be too much of a problem for Abby but she relents.

Octavia, Bellamy, Miller, Gabriel, and the rest of his rebels reach the shield protecting the Prime’s compound. All they can do now is wait for Clarke to drop it. Bellamy suggests Gabriel should assist Clarke in disabling the shield, but Octavia tells him no because it’s not the plan they agreed to. Plus Jade is there and she knows what Gabriel looks like.

Bellamy feels guilty for leaving them behind but Octavia tells him that they’ll be okay. Echo is strong and assures him that Murphy said he would help but that does not provide any comfort to him given Murphy’s reputation. When that doesn’t get through to him, she tells him to just have some faith.

Jon and Emori are alone in the banquet hall, feasting on their success and celebrating their upcoming immortality, but Emori isn’t feeling it. Not when her friends are being chased down and threatened. Jon assures her that he’s working on it and the best way is to appease Russell. Their conversation is cut short when Russell and ‘Jo’ storm in talking about her planning a party. Emori asks them if Echo is alive and Jon jumps right in to keep their cover by inquiring about their new secured immortality. ‘Jo’ excuses herself to change and asks Russell to wait to resurrect her mother because she wants to be there.

Jackson asks Raven how close they are in removing Sheidheda but Raven is furious with her results. She can’t seem to get past the AI and believes the answer is in Becca’s notebook but she doesn’t have it. As they continue to brainstorm, Abby injects herself with the nightblood serum as a solution for the last two doses. Jackson approaches Abby wracked with guilt and regret and she tells him something that Kane would say, ‘We do better today than we did yesterday.’

‘Jo’ comes into the lab with Jackson, Raven, and Abby and grabs Abby for an embrace revealing her true identity. Clarke asks Raven to help her disable the shield but stops dead in her tracks saying that she can’t because of Madi. Clarke suggests going to Ryker but Raven fills her in on his allegiance and recent betrayal to Echo, but she’s determined that she can use Jo’s skill of persuasion to convince him. Russell then comes in to check the progress in the lab and discovers Abby’s transformed state.

Clarke finds a dead Ryker on the floor of his shop and extracts his drive for future leverage over his mother, if the need arises. ‘Jo’ tells Russell that she’s going to recruit Priya (Ryker’s mother) to get Ryker back and he insists she take guards.

Gabriel pounces on a patrol out checking the shield to question them. They tell him that Russell plans on resurrecting six more Primes hence ‘Naming Days’ rather than just one. Finally realising the full extent of the plan, Gabriel can’t do it. He tells the others that he is unwilling to sacrifice a few to save the many.

Miller, Gaia, and Echo are hiding out in the tavern behind the bar. Upon hearing ‘Jo’s’ plan, Echo pounces on her guards. ‘Jo’ starts to fight on their side, revealing her true identity. Now all of Clarke’s friends in the compound know the truth except for Madi. Raven and Abby finally make amends. She tells Raven that she is her family and they hug it out! I’m so glad that these two are finally good again! Abby also tries to reach out to Jon but it doesn’t work. Russell then informs them that he only needs five doses now because he’s going to use Abby for the last one. Abby will be the new vessel for his wife, Simone.

Gabriel plants the device in the pond on the compound before walking right up to the guards and surrenders. He’s brought to Russell and tries to reason with him, saying life without death is meaningless, but this does nothing to change his mind. Seeing how the conversation is going, Gabriel disarms his guards and holds a gun to Russell’s head. Then the Red Sun alarm sounds. Given multiple chances to kill Russell and he finds himself unable to follow through and pull the trigger. Russell knows what they are doing and tells him that he knows the alarm is fake. He gathers his people to tell them of Gabriel’s capture.

Clarke wakes up Priya and uses Ryker’s drive to make her complacent in removing the shield.

Emori and Jon are going to become Daniel and Kaylee and when they walk by Gabriel, he informs them that those two were brother and sister. Then the lights cut out and so do the shields.

Bellamy walks in with Priya as a prisoner claiming that they are not there to fight. He exposes the awful truth behind the primes and their immortality and he uses Priya to confirm it. Russell says he’s disappointed in them all and says according to the adjustment protocol, all non-believers must be purified and throws an armed device into the crowd. It sets off a green gas and in the chaos it allows for Bellamy and Priya to become separated. Priya is surrounded by people, among them her mother and she approaches. She calls her a murderer and stabs her.

Up on the balcony they can see Madi and Jackson bound and escorted by guards. Miller freaks out, wanting to go to his boyfriend but Octavia tells him to stop. Bellamy tells him that he would never make it past the guards. However, Clarke jumps in and offers to use Gaia as her guard, promising Miller that she will bring him back.

The crowd of believers swarm Bellamy and the others as he tries to come up with a plan as he looks for cover.

Clarke sees her mother but realises she’s no longer Abby but rather Simone in Abby’s body. You can see her heart ache a mile away and it’s heartwrenching! Especially because she needs to keep her pretend ‘Jo’ act together and being happy to see her ‘real’ mom knowing her actual mother died to make it happen is a tragedy. Ugh what are these writer’s doing to us!?

Russell and Simone hatch a plan and tell ‘Jo’ that it’s finally time to leave Sanctum. Simone puts a gun to Madi’s head to make Raven pilot the ship seeing how they lost their old pilot, Priya to the non-believers.

Russell, Simone and ‘Jo’ head up to the ship and are welcomed by many guns but they each have one pointed to Madi, Gaia and Raven making this a very climatic stand off to usher us into the season finale for next week.
