Netflix is bringing a new animated original for you to enjoy in the form of Carmen Sandiego, which is based on a character from the 1980s computer game franchise, Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
Carmen is a modern-day Robin Hood travelling the globe and stealing from V.I.L.E. and giving back to its victims. Carmen is publicly perceived as a criminal by most law enforcement agencies – correction, make that a master criminal due to the sheer scale and theatricality of her heists. We will follow her escapades and get to determine not only where but WHO in the world is Carmen Sandiego?
Produced by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the new Carmen Sandiego features not only a new crop of international capers packed but will look into Carmen’s past to tell who she is and why she became a super thief.
The series stars the voices of Gina Rodriguez (Jane The Virgin), who voices Carmen, and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), who voices Player, Carmen’s chief accomplice and friend.
Carmen Sandiego hits Netflix on January 18th. A live-action adaptation has also been announced with Gina Rodriguez to play Carmen.
