Fellow mutants, what is on your mind after this week’s episode? After the previous one bringing nothing new, this one feels like it’s speeding forward in a good way. It is not possible to put everything about every character into a season and to do them justice, so I am always happy to learn the tiniest bit about them.
This week’s focus is on Erg. It’s no surprise that he does not trust humans and wants the morlocks to stay together after being betrayed by his human girlfriend who sold him to Sentinal Services.

This brings me to how Erg treats Clarice. He is so strict about rules and everything. How come, after a week of being with the morlocks, she still doesn’t have an M on her cheek? So the big guy does not have a stone cold heart beating in his chest after all. Clarice seems to feel kind of guilty for spending so much time on the surface and makes up for it with helping getting supplies. During their trip to a store at night, Glow gets shot and certainly will die, if no one with expertise will save her.
Erg thinks that everyone who leaves the tunnels for just one second will betray them, so Clarice decides to ask Kate and Marcos for help. While Marcos gives Glow a blood transfusion to stabilise her, Kate, Clarice, and Erg to the clinic to get some supplies she needs to save Glow.
Who knew a transfusion could be so magical? 😮 #TheGifted pic.twitter.com/TsfRiUKFJQ

They get surprised by the Purifiers and Erg witnesses himself that Kate is on their side and would never betray them. He lets his action speak for him and gives Kate an M of ashes on her cheek to make her an honourable mutant. It is a very touching gift, which touched me.

Sadly, not everyone can experience harmony this week. John calls a small meeting with some members of the underground, but no one wants to listen to him. They are all afraid to fight. Am I am the only one who is wondering where they came from? We did not get any answers about if anyone survived the attack on the big secret meeting.
The most interesting plot in this episode is the decision Lauren makes. Reed tells her the story of the Erlking which his father told him when he was a child and his theory that his he tried to warn him about the darkness in their family.
Lauren tries to stay awake so Andy cannot visit her in her dreams, she is afraid of what this could do to her. I am not sure if listening to the music box, which she thinks is comforting her or helps her tired mind. She does fall asleep for a bit and the Frost Sisters immediately try to convince her to join the Inner Circle. Lauren does what she thinks she has to do and runs away.

This was not meant to be the solution. Reed and John are going after her. It does look funny when a grown up guy touches the street, lamp, and hydrant to pick up a trace. Shame that they did not show how the people around him reacted to it. It would have been quite a fun scene in the middle of all this darkness.

Eventually they find Lauren and Reed is able to convince her to go back with them, telling her that he knows the darkness which is calling her and offers her a solution. Well, it has to be a temporary one, right? I mean, she takes the injection which are supposed to be for Reed and immediately is disconnected to Andy and her powers. I do not like it. I need badass Lauren back immediately!
Not this time, Frosts. ❄️

John still has to process the break up, while Lorna and Marcos are back together, yay. But they do not have time to celebrate because Lorna found out what the next big mission for the terror trio is. They should bring down important buildings: the White House, the Pentagon, and Sentinel Services HQs.
Lorna you are not alone, I am afraid too. After Marcos hears of it, he decided to go down the path of his past and wants to kidnap one of them. This ends badly as expected. Marcos gets shot and because his blood is pure fire, the car takes fire and explodes after Marcos was able to get out in time. With that ending, I cannot wait for next week’s episode!

Erg said that if the mutation is visible, there’s no need for the M (Blink’s eyes and marks are visible).
