The 100 Recap: 7.15 ‘The Dying of the Light’

This episode starts just moments after last week’s episode concluded, where Emori and Jon are standing in the hallway when the ceiling caves in, covering them in rubble, their fates unknown. Right away we see that Murphy is stunned but conscious as he shouts Emori’s name. She isn’t visible to him so he goes further in to look. Then Raven and Jackson arrive and he tells them what happened. They find her in a pile of rubble with an iron rod through her gut. She tells Jon not to worry, it’s just a scratch. But he’s all kinds of worried.

Miller pries open the door he threw the bomb in. It’s covered with rubble. Clarke takes out the vial from Madi, that was given to her from Sheidheda, hoping it will transport her to Bardo and save Madi. But it doesn’t work.

Madi meets Levitt in the white room with Bill watching over the interrogation process. She steps up to the chair and she tells Bill that he is wrong about the code. She tells him that Gabriel and Jordan figured it out. The code isn’t about a war, it’s a test. He only thinks it’s about a final war because he wants it to be a war. They establish a baseline of questions to get her mind ready for the process and when Bill sees Clarke projected from her memories he urges Levitt to keep going. They go deeper but the images soon become distorted and unusable. Levitt tells Bill that the reason for distortion is because these memories aren’t stored in the area of the brain that they should be in. They’re in way more dangerous spot and the nature of it all makes their procedure much riskier and he isn’t trained on it. He tells Bill that he’s never done this before and is uncomfortable continuing. Bill says that he trusts him to do what it right, for all of mankind. He tells him to just have faith. Giving him no other option, Levitt dives deeper into her memories.

Jordan tells the group that it’s a test. He’s insistent on it but Clarke doesn’t want to hear it. She doesn’t believe in it and all she can keep thinking about is Madi and how she has no way of saving her from Cadogan. She storms off and Gaia follows her. Clarke tells her that she’s upset about losing everyone she cares for, mentioning the recent death of Bellamy and the certain death of Madi if she can’t save her. She’s frustrated that her killing Bellamy to protect Madi was pointless after Madi turned herself into the disciples. The very thing she killed Bellamy for, to protect Madi from Cadogan.

Jackson saws off the rod to free Emori from the pile but they also see a wound on her leg that she forgot to mention. They have to cauterise the wound if they have any chance of saving her. Murphy distracts her with talk about loving the roles they played as primes. She said it was the first time it felt like she mattered and Jon tells her that she always mattered him.

Raven returns, she was unable to find Echo or Clarke but she did manage to salvage some medical supplies from the infirmary. Jackson tells her that it isn’t enough however. He needs a surgical theatre which means they need to find a way back to Sanctum if they have any chance of saving Emori.

Levitt finds a glimpse of Cadogan’s daughter but it’s brief and he tells Levitt that he wants to see his daughter. He warns him that finding anymore is dangerous. For Madi. Madi tells Levitt that she saw Becca on the other side and she said that Bill wasn’t ready. She tells them that she refuses to help now that she knows what Becca wanted. She fights and struggles to find a way out of the restraints but it’s useless. Levitt doesn’t agree with Bill on how to proceed so he dismisses him. She tells Bill to go float himself. Her interrogation continues, now without Levitt.

Levitt goes to the stone room. He tells the woman on watch that the Shepherd wanted their tags activated (Clarke and Octavia). Once done she informs him that they were transported to the new bridge location, surrounded by Bill’s army. Clarke and Octavia were transported to the battlefield for the final war. He thought they would be brought to the stone room…this changes his plans.

Jordan and Hope bond and hold hands, confirming their new relationship. He tells her that she’s not alone.

Jon, Raven and Jackson try to hammer their way down to the stone to get Emori to Sanctum but it’s proving more time consuming and Emori continues to fade away. Raven comforts Emori as she changes places with Jackson. Emori tells her that she has to go to Bardo and help Clarke and Madi, she needs to forget Sanctum. Even though that means Emori’s death. She wants her to save everyone then her. Raven tells her that she will save her and then everyone. She can’t lose another person that she loves. They reach the stone but Emori codes. Jackson gives chest compressions to keep the blood flowing and continues to do that as they cross over to Sanctum.

Levitt is at Sheidheda’s cell where he’s singing like a canary, annoying all the guards in the area. Two spot Levitt by the door as they deliver food to the prisoners and he disarms them swiftly. He was actually going to the cell beside him, where Clarke and Octavia are being held. He opens the door and Octavia and him embrace before they quickly devise a plan to take down Cadogan. Clarke enlists Sheidheda to create a distraction.

They find Madi in the white room, breathing but unable to move. She’s suffering from a massive stroke from the mind interrogation leaving her unable to control her limbs but awake enough to hear and see those around her. Clarke breaks down. Levitt tells her that she won’t be able to recover. Clarke picks up her gun to put Madi out of her agony but Octavia stops her. She tells her that she shouldn’t have to live with this too, volunteering to do it herself to spare Clarke. Clarke starts to hum, to ease Madi but before Octavia can follow through Levitt stops them. He tells them that Cadogan got the code which it means it’s only a matter of time before he takes the test and that can’t happen. They leave Madi there in her state with Clarke’s promise to return to her as soon as she can. First she needs to kill Cadogan and she is armed with a rage so fierce after finding Madi and seeing what he did to her. She’s ready to take him on once and for all.

That’s it! Stay tuned for the next episode!
