Every good friendship has its own secrets, but are all secrets as deadly as the secrets between Mackenzie, Robin, and Lily? They’ve been together for almost two decades. Nothing can destroy a friendship of a lifetime, or can it? The plot had a number of interesting twists and turns.

Homemakers Mackenzie and Robin are both approaching breaking points in their marriages. There’s Robin and her four not-so-innocent children, an ever-growing shopping addiction, and a husband who is tired of it all. Then there’s Mackenzie with a seemingly devoted but abusive husband and a sweet little daughter, but is her husband a little too devoted? Will she ever escape him? As for Lily, she has many problems in her life because of her drug addiction. She is tempted towards hook-ups, but will she end up with Robin’s husband, who’s come on to her out of sexual frustration in his marriage?

What are Mackenzie and her husband hiding? What hold do they have over one another? A disturbing incident involving Robin’s 18-year-old son and Mackenzie’s 15-year-old daughter could jeopardise Mackenzie’s relationship with Robin. Is it better to keep a secret to protect someone? Or should you always be truthful no matter the consequences?

The book includes very realistic episodes of domestic problems for the three close friends. They have been together through college, marriages, divorce, and children, but they’ve all been keeping some secrets from each other and someone needs to start telling the truth before it’s too late. So what can really come between these three best friends, what can turn them against each other, what can tear them apart? Are the secrets keeping them together? There are so many secrets among these best friends, but are they that deadly enough to take lives?

This was an incredibly fast-paced, heart racing, and twisty thriller with a great ending. The changing narratives truly keeps you on the edge of your seat, which leaves you guessing as to what the end result was going to be.

Readers will find it a compelling read from start to finish. Its plot pulls out all the stops as the friends confront the potentially devastating consequences of both their past and present actions upon themselves, their families, and each other. It’s a domestic thriller fraught with secrets and lies and just when you thought there were no more to be discovered, another one presents itself.

This novel has it all with a great plot, very realistic characters, and being very well-written, which will likely see it take the psychological thriller world by storm.
