An Authentic Experience is a breezy contemporary filled with romance, humour, and drama as we follow Silver on her journey of creating authentic experiences.
From what I gather, Kelly Wittmann’s writing seems to be geared towards grade school or middle school readers. There is nothing wrong with this as every book contains a target age range, but it was just a very simple read for me and the writing wasn’t that astounding. I like the progression of the storyline, but again, it was simple as well.
My favourite character is main character, Silver. I admire her optimism, making the most of each situation. I admire her strength to deal with her quarrelling parents and I admire her patience — she has to wait an awful long time to go to school.
I recommend this book for ages 13 and up or for anyone who’s looking for an easy read.
I will leave you with these words, don’t let the title deceive you. Not all authentic experiences are great ones.
