Killing Eve Recap: 3:02 ‘Management Sucks’

Killing Eve Recap 3.02 Management Sucks

We start the episode with Eve (Sandra Oh) standing outside in the rain and a man accuses her of being drunk. When she heads back inside, we realise that we are at Kenny’s funeral.

Konstantine (Kim Bodnia) talks to Eve and she tells him that they both know that Kenny did not jump. The man from outside tries to interrupt and talk to Eve again, but she escapes to the bathroom, where a girl is crying, and we see that Eve still has Kenny’s phone.

A young woman talks to Konstantin who is Kenny’s sister, Geraldine (Gemma Whelan), and remembers Konstantin from when she was younger. Eve tries to leave, but Carolyn stops her and tries to talk to her. Eve yells at Carolyn and tells her that they both know Kenny did not jump.

Barcelona
Villanelle (Jodie Comer) is walking through a very fancy house and Dasha (Harriet Walter) is also there as she got Villanelle the house. They talk about Eve and Villanelle tells Dasha that she took care of it. Villanelle learns that she has to work with someone to prove that she is ready to be a keeper.

MI6
Carolyn is back at work, although she is supposed to be on leave, when she walks into a meeting with Paul (Steve Pemperton). They both try to take charge and talk at the same time, so Paul talks to Carolyn privately and tells her to go home. Konstantin is told (by The 12) to stay in London to keep an eye on Carolyn.

Eve’s Work
Carolyn comes to visit Eve at work and they discuss that Kenny did not jump, but Carolyn tells Eve that she can’t investigate this, however, she doesn’t work for Carolyn anymore. Carolyn tells Eve that Villanelle is alive and back working for The 12, which shocks her!

Later on, Eve is sitting at a bar alone and attempting to access Kenny’s phone when it starts ringing. She then receives text messages and these let her know that these people know that Eve has the phone. When she picks up the phone, the man on the line is the man from the funeral. Jamie (Danny Sapani) was Kenny’s boss and wants Eve to give them his phone. She goes to the office and refuses to hand it over, but she tells them that she will only give them the phone if she gets access to Kenny’s files. Eve discovers that the girl crying in the bathroom was Audrey (Ayoola Smart), Kenny’s girlfriend and colleague.

Côte d’Azur, France
Villanelle is waiting for the boy she is meant to look after, Felix (Stefan Iancu). He is only nineteen and tells Villanelle all about how he killed lots of people connected to his bully. He tells Villanelle that he killed these people as one of them bullied his boyfriend, but the love was unrequited. This hits a nerve with Villanelle.

London
Konstantin purposely bumps into Geraldine. They talk and he gives her the magnet he bought earlier.

Birthday Party
Felix and Villanelle are on a job together, dressed up as clowns at a birthday party. She tells Felix to kill their target and when he takes a long time, she goes looking for him. Felix did not stab the target like intended, instead he is bashing his head against the floor, so Villanelle shoots the target and then shoots Felix. “Management sucks.”

Carolyn’s House
Eve comes to talk to Carolyn about Kenny and tells her that she has Kenny’s phone and a thumb drive. We realise that the magnet Konstantin gave Geraldine is bugged and he can hear everything.

Barcelona
Villanelle comes home and finds Konstantin inside. She is mad at him, but he tells her that Eve is alive (they both got some bombshells this episode). We also learn that Konstantin never left The 12.

Overall Thoughts?
This episode was a lot easier to watch than the previous one, however, I’m still heartbroken about Kenny’s death! We’ve been introduced to quite a few new characters so far and I’m very intrigued what their roles will be. I’m also happy that both Eve and Villanelle know that the other is alive and will hopefully see each other again soon.
