Niko (Owen McDonnell), takes a selfie in the countryside in what we assume is Poland and then heads to a bar where he receives a number of texts from Eve (Sandra Oh).
Meanwhile, Eve is sleeping at the office and tries to make herself presentable when she gets a text from Niko. A cake is delivered to Eve, which is from Villanelle, in the shape of a London Bus, so she throws the cake off the roof. Jamie (Danny Sapani) comes to talk to Eve and we learn that it is in fact her birthday. Eve goes home with Jamie and she learns that he has/had children. They bond over their traumatic past and mistakes they have made. Eve finds a cuddly bear in her bed and stares at him, which is a reference to the bear Villanelle gave her in the previous episode.
Back at the office, Bear (Turlough Convery) discovers the murder in 1974 (Dasha’s murder victim) and they realise a connection.
In Moscow, Konstantin (Kim Bodnia) is waiting in a car outside a private school to talk to his daughter, Irina, who is not very happy with him. Konstantin then goes to talk to Charles’ wife who is upset as Charles emailed her a file, so she sends it to Konstantin and he suggests she goes to stay in their holiday home.
Villanelle is baking and listening to music when Dasha (Harriet Walter) asks who else Villanelle saw while she was in London, so she mentions Konstantin. Dasha tells her that The Twelve want to meet her and that she is going to be promoted.
Konstantin scares Villanelle and tells her that he can find out where her family is if she does something for him. Villanelle gets the hiccups.
In Lyon, Villanelle is cutting flowers in a garden. We see Charles’ wife come out to talk to her and she tries to scare Villanelle’s hiccups away, but they scare each other and chase each other around the garden laughing. Villanelle strangles her with a garden hose and then calls Konstantin that it’s done.
Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) wakes up very early and she walks past Geraldine (Gemma Whelan) without acknowledging her. Carolyn has lunch with Paul (Steve Pemperton) and asks to have her office back. She sees Konstantin walking down the street and wonders if he was at her house with Geraldine. When Carolyn gets back home, Geraldine tells her that she is worried about her and breaks down crying.
Dasha is swimming and talks to a woman about Villanelle. The woman is disappointed in Villanelle and therefore Dasha. Dasha offers to kill Eve, but the woman tells her that would cause too many problems, she suggests that she drive a wedge between the two instead.
As for Niko, he is talking to an old woman again, which we can now see is Dasha, who takes his phone and texts Eve. Dasha ties a sign to a pitch fork that says ‘still got it’. When Eve arrives, she sees Niko being stabbed in the neck by a pitch fork. This woman has seen too many people die!
Overall Thoughts?
This episode had a lot of time jumping and foreshadowing going on. I really enjoyed it! Also, wow we are getting a lot of deaths this season! Poor Eve, she needs a well deserved vacation! I can’t wait to see what happens next, I am officially hooked.
