You’re not super. You’re a ticking time bomb.
Netflix has released its trailer for the second season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones and it promises plenty of ass-kicking and hard liquor drinking again!
New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.
Judging by the trailer, it seems working with the likes of Matthew Murdock, Luke Cage and Danny Rand will have an impact on how her solo adventures this season. However, she won’t be charging ahead alone with Trish Walker stepping up to the plate to help kick some butt. Her comic book counterpart is known as Hellcat, and while Season 1 saw Trish pushed down of self-defense training, she’ll be taking it to the streets and even wielding a gun at one point—”Jessica might not want a sidekick,” she says, “but she needs one.”
The second season will also see Kilgrave return, played by David Tennant. Although he was killed in the final episode of the first season, he will return in some way and his involvement was announced at the start of production. More thank likely he will be a figment of Jessica’s imagination, but with series like this, you never know! We do see at the end of the trailer his signature purple haze appear with a pair of hands mockingly applaud her efforts.
We also don’t know if he will act as the main antagonist for this season or if another will come forward as there are new cast members joining the series. But we do know that Jessica will spend the season trying to find out more about her past and herself, including the death of her family and further developing her powers.
Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) is joined by an incredible returning cast that includes Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse) and new cast members including Janet McTeer (Me Before You), J.R. Ramirez (Power), and Terry Chen (Continuum).
Marvel’s Jessica Jones is executive produced by series Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight, Dexter), Raelle Tucker (True Blood), Jim Chory (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Iron Fist) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Iron Fist) who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.
The 13-episode season hits Netflix on March 8th!
