New To Netflix: Hilda

Hilda Netflix TV Series 2018

While Netflix’s new animated series Hilda may look ‘cute-sy’, it is perfect for people of all ages, especially older kids with its magic, adventures, and heartwarming tone.

Hilda transforms the Eisner-Award nominated graphic novels by Luke Pearson and published by Nobrow into an incredible animated adventure for older kids. The series follows the journey of a fearless blue-haired girl as she travels from her home in a vast magical wilderness full of elves and giants to the bustling city of Trolberg, where she makes new friends and discovers mysterious creatures who are stranger –and sometimes more dangerous– than she ever expected. Netflix members worldwide will be able to join Hilda on her thrills and escapades beginning in 2018.

The series stars Bella Ramsey (Lyanna Mormont in Games of Thrones) as the voice of Hilda. Her mother is portrayed by Daisy Haggard, the voice of the Ministry elevator in the penultimate Harry Potter movie. Other voices include: Rasmus Hardiker (Mary and the Witch’s Flower), Claire Skinner (Sleepy Hollow), Nina Sosanya (Doctor Who), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald). The series is produced by Silvergate Media, the makers of Octonauts, in collaboration with Mercury Filmworks.

Directed by Andy Coyle (Atomic Puppet), the 13-episode season of Hilda hits Netflix internationally on September 21st.
