‘Luke Cage’ Is Back For Season 2

Luke Cage Season 2 Netflix TV Series

After a positively received first season, Netflix’s Luke Cage is back with our Hero of Harlem now settled comfortably into his role and there’s a new villain on the rise.

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain. The classic Cage comic book villain (and Serpent Society member), Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir), is seen using his own enhanced powers and capoeira skills to seriously hurt Luke. Thankfully, he’ll have a bit of help with robot-arm-rocking Misty Knight, who might the very partner he will need this time around.

There will be a few new faces joining the Luke Cage season 2 cast, particularly those round out the villainous cast.

John McIver (Mustafa Shakir, The Deuce) is the aforementioned Bushmaster, with his character a natural leader, brimming with charisma, whose mission is focused on Harlem and vengeance.

Rosalie Carbone (Annabella Sciorra, The Sopranos) is a dangerous downtown criminal underworld power player with an eye, and an agenda, toward Harlem. Her character is best known as a character from the Punisher world.

Tilda Johnson (Gabrielle Dennis, Rosewood) is a brilliant, holistic doctor with a complicated history in Harlem where, as much as she tries to stay far from trouble, it seems to always find her. Comic book fans may recognise her name as a minor villain known as Nightshade.

As for other character appearances, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) will make an appearance to help Luke channel his chi, along with Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) who is seen kicking ass with Misty prior to her receiving her robotic arm.

The series stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi, Mustafa Shaki, Gabrielle Dennis, and Rosario Dawson.
