From children’s editor turned author Erin Soderberg Downing comes a new series about a family who takes on a series of mad-cap business ventures with varying levels of success.
After a tough couple of years, Lucy, Freddy, and Herb Peach are ready for a break. Lucy’s excited to read all of the books on her school’s summer reading list. Freddy wants to work on his art projects and build cardboard fortresses (when he isn’t stuck in summer school). Herb just wants to swim every day.
But just before school’s out for summer, their dad makes a big announcement: one of the inventions their mom came up with before she passed away has sold, and the Peaches are millionaires! Then comes the even bigger surprise announcement: Dad’s bought a used food truck with the money, and the Peaches are going to spend the summer traveling the country selling pies. It will be the Great Peach Experiment—a summer of bonding while living out one of Mom’s dreams.
Summer plans, sunk.
Just like most road trips (and small business start-ups), things definitely don’t quite go as planned during the family’s adventure. But they certainly do meet some strange and interesting characters along the way…read on for an excerpt from the Peach Pie Truck’s Chicago stop during The Great Peach Experiment 1: When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Peach Pie [releasing April 6th 2021]!
