The 100 Recap: 7.12 ‘The Stranger’

Murphy and Emori are kneeling before Sheidheda in the banquet hall as they negotiate there next steps, like living arrangements. Emori asks for the auto shop saying it would be handy for her considering she knows how the reactor works and how to fix it. They leave. The criminals enter and kneel next. As Emori passes Nelson, leader of the Children of Gabriel she tells him to kneel so that they can fight another day. But he doesn’t. When his people stand with him and his decision to rather die than kneel, they are gunned down right in front of him. Sheidheda leaves only Nelson standing, asking him if he has changed his mind. He has not. He tells him that he will not worship false gods and he will not kneel. This time his refusal buys him a bullet to the brain.

Bill is upset that they lied to him about the flame. Gabriel is locked up with the others when Bellamy enters the room asking to speak to Bill, privately. He inquires about his friends. He apologizes for Anders on behalf of his people, thinking that he and Bill were close. They weren’t close though. Bellamy was just testing him and Bill calls him out on it. He tells him that the only way that Bellamy can save his friends is to deliver the flame, fully functioning and in possession of the code to end the last war.

Bellamy goes to see Echo and Raven. He tells them about his plan to restore the flame. Raven tells him she doesn’t know anything about it. He tells the guards to take Raven to the White Room. He tells Echo that he is the man she loves but she tells him that the man in front of her isn’t that same man. She asks him if what believes in is more important than them and their relationship and he says that yes, it is.

Sheidheda tells his people to continue the search for Madi. He asks Indra about Gaia, thinking they would be together since she was the one leading the search party for Clarke where it’s rumoured Madi is hiding out with. She insists that she has no knowledge about it and Sheidheda’s trusted guard chimes in and tells him that they did in fact find no one. He was with Indra during that search. They leave her to clean up the dead. She notices one of them staring at her, still alive. She tells them to play dead and she drags them out.

Trey questions Jon about taking the kneel rather than hiding like they are now but Jon talks him down, for now. Trey goes back into the reactor room with the others, located in the auto shop. There’s a knock on the door. It’s Indra. She tells them that Sheidheda killed all of the Children of Gabriel, all but one. They escort the boy into the reactor room with the rest. Indra tells Jon that she is proud of him and he tells her that he’s gotten that a lot lately. Emori sees Nikki scouting outside on one of the cameras as Jon opens the door for her. She shoves a gun into his face and forces him to open the door to the reactor. He does and she finds all the people he’s been hiding, including Madi. Emori sneaks up behind her and hits her over the head with a shovel, knocking her out cold.

Hope is sharing a cell with Jordan. He tries to get her to talk, using their similar childhoods as the ice breaker. She tells him her story and he tells her that Dioyza did what she did to save her soul. This breaks Hope and she bursts into uncontrollable sobs. They hug.

Clarke and Octavia share a cell. Octavia tells Clarke that she finally understands her and all the things that she did to protect Madi, relating it to her experience with Hope. Bellamy comes in. Clarke tells him that siding with bill makes no sense and she calls him out on it. He tells her about when he saw the vision with his mother and how after it ended, the storm finally broke. He dreams of peace and that’s why he’s on Bill’s side. He asks her to believe in him but she refuses to help that man. The man now standing in front of her in his new clothes looking like her best friend. He begs for her help to save their lives and she tells him to go float himself. He calls the guards to escort Clarke to the White Room. He tells Octavia that he’s only doing what he has to.

Nikki wakes up, tied to a pipe with rope, gag in mouth. Jon asks her if Hatch would have kneeled, doubting it and riling her up. He tells her about Hatch’s final moments and how he fixed the reactor with Murphy despite knowing his pending death as a result. He tells her that he did it to save her. This reaches her. Emotions are stirred.

Clarke keeps fighting their methods of extracting information so much so that she’s about to haemorrhage. Bill and Bellamy are present. Clarke relents only after he threatens to send one of her friends to penance. She agrees to lead him straight to it, but only after her friends are safe.

Trikru is sentenced to clean up the bloodbath in the banquet hall as per Sheidheda’s request. One of Sheidheda’s men reveals a throne of skulls, that leaves him in awe. He goes to check it out, where he later sits in it as more men bring in the anomaly stone, to the center of the room.

They find Sheidheda at the door to the auto shop on the cameras and Jon goes solo to answer it, knowing the risk and wanting Emori safely behind the door. He asks Jon to open the reactor door. Then Emori makes an announcement. She tells Sheidheda that if he threatens or harms Jon in anyway she blows the reactor, killing them all. Then she tells him that if he tries to open those doors, she’ll blow it up too, knowing that they’re dead anyway. Sheidheda leaves the shop with Jon in tow deciding to starve them out.

Bill leads Clarke to the stone room. Her friends are lined up but restrained. He releases the cuffs, one by one. Each are provided with a helmet to keep their memories intact for the trip through the stone. They walk through it, one at a time. Except Raven. They realise that Bill knows how the stone works and that Clarke’s friends weren’t taken to Sanctum. He tells her that they were sent somewhere safe but their location is known only to him. They will be brought back once Clarke holds up her end of the deal.

Clarke and the disciples go through the stone next. They arrive right in the banquet hall on Sanctum and are welcomed by Sheidheda playing a game of chess with Jon.
