Another month means a whole lot of new movies to love! September certainly has something for everyone, and there’s even a few book adaptations coming to the big screen. One of these adaptations is Darcey Bell’s A Simple Favour, which stars Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, while John Bellairs The House With A Clock In Its Wall will be perfect for families with its magic and mystery. Other intriguing new movies includes a star-studded The Predator, Robert Redford’s last movie The Old Man & The Gun, and of course, The Nun, another horror film to get your heart-pumping!

A Simple Favour
Based on the novel by Darcey Bell, A Simple Favour centers around Stephanie, a mommy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily’s sudden disappearance from their small town. Stephanie is joined by Emily’s husband Sean in this stylish thriller filled with twists and betrayals, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty, murder and revenge. Starring Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect), Blake Lively (Gossip Girl), and Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians).
The Nun
A priest with a haunted past and a novice on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate the death of a young nun in Romania and confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun. Starring Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story), Bonnie Aarons (The Conjuring 2), and Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight).
The Predator
When a young boy accidentally triggers the universe’s most lethal hunters’ return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race. Starring Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Jacob Tremblay (Room), Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), and Keegan-Michael Key (Friends From College).
Peppermint
Peppermint is a revenge story centering on a young mother who finds herself with nothing to lose, and is now going to take from her enemies the very life they stole from her. Starring Jennifer Garner (Alias), Tyson Ritter (Preacher), and Randy Gonzalez (Bloodline).
The Children Act
As her marriage crumbles, a judge must decide a case involving a teenage boy who is refusing a blood transfusion on religious principle. Starring Emma Thompson (Saving Mr Banks), Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games), and Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk).
Bel Canto
Based on the novel by Ann Patchett, a world-renown opera singer becomes trapped in a hostage situation when she’s invited to perform for a wealthy industrialist in South America. Starring Julianne Moore (Still Alice) and Ken Watanabe (Inception).
Nappily Ever After
Violet Jones tired of waiting for her longtime boyfriend to propose, breaks up with him. But old feelings, and heaps of jealousy, no doubt, arise when he promptly begins dating another woman. Starring Sanaa Lathan (The Affair), Ricky Whittle (American Gods), and Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters).
The House With A Clock In Its Wall
Based on the novel by John Bellairs, a young orphan named Lewis Barnavelt aids his magical uncle in locating a clock with the power to bring about the end of the world. Starring Cate Blanchett (Thor: Ragnarok), Jack Black (School of Rock), and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks).

The Old Man & The Gun
Based on the true story of Forrest Tucker and his audacious escape from San Quentin at the age of 70 to an unprecedented string of heists that confounded authorities and enchanted the public. Starring Robert Redford (All Is Lost), Sissy Spacek (Castle Rock), and John David Washington (Ballers).
Little Women
A modern retelling of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, we follow the lives of four sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March – detailing their passage from childhood to womanhood. Despite harsh times, they cling to optimism, and as they mature, they face blossoming ambitions and relationships, as well as tragedy, while maintaining their unbreakable bond as sisters.
