December 2019 Movies

The end of 2019 is almost here, but there are a few more movies to enjoy before the years end! December sees the Skywalker saga come to an end with The Rise of Skywalker, along with the adaptation of the hit musical, Cats, and it’s filled with famous faces including Judi Dench, Idris Elba, James Corden, Taylor Swift, Ian McKellen, and many more.

Also hitting theatres is Jumanji: The Next LevelBombshellBlack ChristmasLittle Women, and Spies In Disguise.

As for streaming services, Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones star in The Aeronauts on Prime Video, while Ryan Reynolds stars in 6 Underground, Scarlett Johansson in Marriage Story, Anthony Hopkins in The Two Popes, and the latest A Christmas Prince movie are all coming to Netflix!

Cats

A tribe of cats called the Jellicles must decide yearly which one will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new Jellicle life. Starring Idris Elba (Luther), Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings), Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect), and Judi Dench (Skyfall).

The Aeronauts

Pilot Amelia Wren and scientist James Glaisher find themselves in an epic fight for survival while attempting to make discoveries in a gas balloon. Starring Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Eddie Redmayne (Fantastic Beasts), and Himesh Patel (Yesterday).

A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby

It’s Christmastime in Aldovia, and a royal baby is on the way. Amber and Richard host royals from a distant kingdom to renew a sacred truce, but when the treaty vanishes, peace is jeopardized and an ancient curse threatens their family. Starring Rose McIver and Ben Lamb.

Jumanji: The Next Level

In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to rescue one of their own, the players will have to brave parts unknown from arid deserts to snowy mountains, to escape the world’s most dangerous game. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga. Starring Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Keri Russell, Oscar Isaac, Jimmy Vee, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, Daisy Ridley, and Naomi Ackie.

6 Underground

Meet a new kind of action hero. Six untraceable agents, totally off the grid. They’ve buried their pasts so they can change the future. Starring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Adria Arjona (Good Omens), Dave Franco (Now You See Me), and Mélanie Laurent (Inglourious Basterds).

A group of women decide to take on Fox News head Roger Ailes and the toxic atmosphere he presided over at the network. Starring Nicole Kidman (Moulin Rouge), Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad), and Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road).

Spies in Disguise
When the world’s best spy is turned into a pigeon, he must rely on his nerdy tech officer to save the world. Featuring the voices of Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy), Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming), and Will Smith (Men In Black).

Marriage Story

Noah Baumbach’s incisive and compassionate look at a marriage breaking up and a family staying together. Starring Scarlett Johansson (Avengers) and Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens).

Little Women

Following the lives of four sisters, Amy, Jo, Beth and Meg, as they come of age in America in the aftermath of the Civil War. Though all very different from each other, the March sisters stand by each other through difficult and changing times.
