Hulu’s new female-led comedy series, Dollface, focuses on that friend that disappears into a relationship until they resurface one day with either a sense of clarity or a newly single status.
The latter is exactly what happens to Jules (Kat Dennings), a young woman, after she is blindsided and dumped by her longtime boyfriend. According to Hulu’s official description she must “deal with her own imagination in order to literally and metaphorically re-enter the world of women, and rekindle the female friendships she left behind.”
The series stars Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) as Jules, Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars) as Stella, Brenda Song (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) as Madison, and Esther Povitsky (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Izzy. The series created by Jordan Weiss, who serves as an executive producer alongside showrunner Ira Ungerleider; Margot Robbie, Brett Hedblom and Tom Ackerley for LuckyChap Entertainment; Bryan Unkeless and Scott Morgan for Screen Arcade; Kat Dennings; Nicole King and Stephanie Laing (Vice Principals). Matt Spicer (Ingrid Goes West) will executive produce and direct the first episode.
Dollface premieres November 15th on Hulu with 10 episodes.
