Synopsis
I am Amelia, and up until last year I was an orphan. Now I have the family that I’ve always wanted. We’re slightly different than your average family, and myself more so than them. Growing up I always gravitated toward the awkward, the strange, the nerdy things. Gamer girls weren’t cool in the early ‘80s, and avid readers with their noses in books were geeks. Dealing with severe Social Anxiety and a deep introverted personality, I never fit in. Escaping into the world of books was my safe place. Walking in the steps of characters on impossible journeys in far away lands was my means of escaping the reality of my social isolation.
My love of reading never left me. Nor did my love of gaming for that matter. I was quite unlike my sister, and still am. Being that I was adopted from Hospital as a baby, I always wondered about the why’s. The rumination of this for three decades finally wouldn’t be silenced, and in an effort to expunge the mystery from my dreams, I began writing the first book in The Uluru Legacy Series.
“Garkain” is the fantasy re-telling of my adoption story. Writing from such a personal place helped to bring Amelia to life in a way that readers have really noticed, and appreciated. She is heavily influenced by me. Strong-willed, hard-headed, sharp-witted, and independent, she knows her own mind.
The series is set in Australia, being the only thing I knew about my heritage, the culture has always intrigued and inspired me. My father was from Australia, on Holiday in Houston, and that’s all I know of him, save for a name that may have changed. Ed Saunders.
“Garkain” is the first in the series, which released June 22nd, 2021. “Larougo” continues the Legacy this fall, releasing November 2nd, 2021, and is available now for preorder. The Uluru Legacy Series will continue on in the Spring of 2022.
