FX has renewed American Horror Story for another two installments, which means the annual limited series will still be going in 2019.
The CEO for FX, John Landgraf, spoke at the Television Critics Association panel about the series. “We know explicitly what next season is about, which is seven, but we don’t know what the eighth and ninth seasons are about,” Landgraf says. “We’re extending it out of trust and goodwill but also, Ryan made a commitment that he would continue to run that show and that he would be involved as he has been in the past.”
The most recent installment in the series, Roanoke, has been the least liked by AHS fans.
With the announcement of the renewal, it was also announced both Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will be joining the cast once again for season 7. As per usual, there is little known about what the season will be about, but we do know it will be a modern-day story.
According to executive producer Ryan Murphy, there are only three people (John Landgraf, studio executive Dana Walden and Sarah Paulson) who know what the season is about, especially since Murphy has only started writing it.
