If you’re in need of a new show to binge watch, then why not catch up on Riverdale—the hot new series by The CW taking the world by storm.
Based on the classic Archie Comics, the drama centres around high school student Archie Andrews and his best friends in the small town of Riverdale. Tragedy strikes this sleepy town when a fellow high school student is mysteriously murdered setting the tone for the first season.
The second season sees the introduction of new characters and a new mystery for the gang to solve when The Black Hood begins terrorising the town. While still early on in the third season, which is currently airing on The CW and streaming on Netflix, now is the perfect time to start watching. If that didn’t excite you here are five reasons why you should start watching it now!
The Characters: With a diverse range of characters, there is never a dull moment, especially when you have Cheryl causing trouble.
Drama: Riverdale is not your regular teenage drama, it deals with murder, love triangles, and family drama that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
The Cast: The casting directors not only did a perfect job finding actors who looked similar to the comic book characters, but it includes 90’s heartthrob Luke Perry and former Disney star Cole Sprouse as well as up and coming actresses Madelaine Petsch and Lili Reinhart.
Romance: Teen dramas are never short of romance and Riverdale is no exception. Whether it’s Archie and Veronica’s steamy shower scene or Alice and FP, this show has no shortage of sexual tension.
Relatability: While we may not know what it’s like to solve a murder or work for a mob boss, we all know the struggles of finding ourselves and wanting to fit in during high school, which is exactly what these kids are going through.
So there you have it! A mere five of many reasons as to why you should be watching Riverdale. If that doesn’t leave you reaching for your Netflix account or TV, then tell me and we can talk it through.
Yep makes me want to sign up. Not the Archie cartoon I loved as a kid…but better by the sounds of it!
