Bridgerton Season 3: What We Got in Part 1 and What To Expect in Part 2

Bridgerton has had viewers in a chokehold since the premiere of Season One in later 2020. While fans may argue over which ship is the best, the release of Season Three, featuring Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington has been highly anticipated.

As with many recent Netflix shows, Season Three is being released in two parts. With part one behind us, let’s look at what we got and what we can expect when part two drops.

There will be SPOILERS. This is your warning to bow out if you haven’t watched part one yet.

Recap of Season 3, Part 1: What We Got

Part 1 was a whirlwind, but it wasn’t exactly what the book contained.

The Friendship of Cressida Cowper

Cressida has been the villain we’ve loved to hate for the first two seasons, so many fans were surprised to see her displayed in a sympathetic light at the beginning of Season 3. Whilst it was a little jarring at first, it did add a level of depth to an antagonist while also providing a new avenue for Eloise Bridgerton to explore.

Gardening for Violet

With Violet’s mention that her garden was “blooming” during Queen Charlotte, fans have been anxiously awaiting a hint as to who might be gardening with Violet Bridgerton. With a little nod to the complicated past of Violet’s father and Lady Danbury, it looks like her brother, Lord Anderson, might be up for the challenge.

Francesca’s Sparkle

As Francesca entered her season, it was clear that she was the wallflower of the Bridgerton children. Once again, Queen Charlotte named a Bridgerton the season’s Diamond and tried to orchestrate her own match. Francesca, like her siblings, forged her own way in sparking her own quiet feelings about Lord Kilmartin.

The Mondrichs Move Up

A new addition to the central Bridgerton plot, the Mondrichs have been making waves this season. After a distant relative passes, the Mondrichs’ son is named her heir, leaving the family titled and wealthy.

Romance for Penelope

Penelope Featherington fans everywhere were glad to see her with a suitor and someone to give Colin Bridgerton a run for his money. While Lord Debling is probably a good person, he only served to fuel the fire between Colin and Penelope leaving us with the much anticipated carriage scene.

What to Expect in Season 3, Part 2

While the other plotlines will probably make an appearance, Part 2 is sure to focus on Penelope’s role as Lady Whistledown. With the wedding quickly approaching, Penelope will have to test Colin’s love by admitting the truth about all the writing she does, or Eloise will tell him for her.

Which begs the question: will Penelope choose love or power?

Hopefully we’ll also see a bit more of Lord Anderson and Violet and maybe even Francesca and Lord Kilmartin in a set up for their season.

Waiting For The Finale

Whatever Part 2 brings, we can’t wait until its release and more juicy drama from Lady Whistledown.
