The film adds to the growing list of remakes, which already includes Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast. Tim Burton has already been selected to direct the film. With Will Smith working on several projects including Bad Boys for Life, the third installment in the Bad Boys franchise, and an upcoming Netflix fantasy cop thriller titled Bright.
