4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Halloween, Fear Itself, All the Way (Season 2 Episode 6, Season 4 Episode 4, Season 6 Episode 6)

Being the chosen one means Buffy fights off Vampires on a day-to-day basis alongside any other demon that decides to rise up over Sunnydale. Therefore, it’s no surprise that there are three Halloween episodes across the seven seasons. The first Halloween episode takes place when the gang are still in high school: the costume shop owner performs a spell that turns everyone who bought their costume from him into their characters, for example, Buffy loses her slaying powers and becomes a weak debutante in her pretty dress. The second episode is at a college haunted house frat party where everyone’s worst fears come to life and the third showcases Buffy’s role as a parent in her sister Dawn’s life. Regardless of Halloween, these three episodes are worth a rewatch as they show Buffy’s character development from high school student, college student and legal guardian.

Stefan’s good guy personality and Damon’s bad boy persona are played against each other in both of these episodes and the rest of the series. In Season 4, Damon dressed as Jack the Ripper with Elena and Bonnie as his victims attend a Halloween frat party at Whitmore College. 6. Pretty Little Liars: The First Secret, This is a Dark Ride, Grave New World. (Season 2 Episode 13, Season 3 Episode 13, Season 4 Episode 13)

Anonymous texts from a creepy stalker that knows way too much about you and your friends is enough to scare anyone on a regular day. Therefore, these Halloween specials are extra terrifying. It also cannot be a coincidence that each Halloween special falls on the thirteenth episode. This first episode is a prequel to the pilot. The Halloween before Ali goes missing, Alison and the girls get invited to Noel Kahn’s Halloween party until a worrying text from Alison causes the liars to leave and go to an abandoned house. The next episode unfolds on a terrifying ghost train with the girls dressed up as Marilyn Monroe, Daisy Buchanan, Marie Slim Browning and Barbarella with interference from A. The last Halloween episode takes place first in a graveyard, then underground tunnels which leads the girls to a creepy old mansion. The end of the episode confirms that Alison is alive and wants to come home to Rosewood.

7. One Tree Hill: An Attempt to Tip the Scales, Not Afraid (Season 3 Episode 4, Season 8 Episode 6).

Tric is the perfect setting for Halloween in both of these episodes. In the first, a masquerade ball leads everyone to dress up as who they would like to be rather than who they are. For example, Hayley dresses up as Sandy from Grease. Stolen kisses, practical jokes and commitment issues are at the heart of this episode as Fall Out Boy perform. In the second one, although in their adult life, the gang enjoy an open mic night at Tric on Halloween with some funny costumes as Julian arrives as a Dalmatian with his mother as Cruella and Hayley comes as herself in high school; a pregnant cheerleader.

Meanwhile, Daniel visits Claire in rehab and Wilhelmina’s wicked  witch personality thrives in this episode as she can’t fit into a designer gown and has been slandered for dating a younger man.

9. Sabrina the Teenage Witch: A River of Candy Corn Runs Through It (Season 2 Episode 31)

Marshall and Lily enter the costume contest as a parrot and a Captain Sparrow character at MacLaren’s and win with surprising results. Barney must change his costume multiple times as his pick up lines keep failing him. Robin doesn’t like to share which causes Mike to break up with her. The last Halloween episode is a continuation of the first as the title suggests, The Slutty Pumpkin Returns. Seven cover songs are featured in this episode, ending with the Glee club singing Time Warp.

15. Stranger Things: Trick or Treat, Freak  (Season 2 Episode 2)

There is a clue in the title that ‘strange things’ are always happening in the town of Hawkins. Halloween is no different. The boys dress up as Ghostbusters paying homage to the film at that time while nobody else at school is in costume. That’s a nightmare in itself. The kids continue to fight monsters from the upside down in this spooky episode filled with 80’s references.

16. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: The Ghost in Suite 613 (Season 1 Episode 19)

Since Stephen King’s The Shining and subsequent film version, hotels can have a creepy element with abandoned rooms, long corridors and basements. In this episode, The Tipton hotel is the perfect setting to discover a haunted room. After Muriel tells a ghost story about suite 613, Zack, Cody, London, Maddie and Esteban decide to spend the night. Esteban holds a séance, Arwin detects paranormal activity while the rest of the gang wait patiently to hear from ghost Irene.

17. Bones: Mummy in the Maze (Season 3 Episode 5)

This is a good episode to watch before the upcoming film.

19. American Horror Story: Murder House (Season 1 Episode 4, 5)

Each episode of AHS is scary but the two part Halloween special highlights the fine line between the living and the dead: the ghosts of anyone who died in the murder house can finally leave on Halloween night. Five mangled teens from a school shooting haunt Tate to find out why he killed them while he’s on a date with Violet. After seeing an ultrasound of Vivien’s baby, the doctor collapses leading the audience to believe there is something seriously wrong. Ouija boards, the return of the rubber man, and the revelation that Constance is Tate’s mother sums up some of the action.

20. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air: Hex and the Single Guy (Season 4 Episode 7)

Bel Air is bewitched on this scary holiday as the Banks’ family attend a séance with a spiritualist to help Hilary make contact with Trevor, her dead fiancé. The boys follow suit and in true Grams fashion, she joins in and tells the scariest story of all, Jennifer’s story. The episode flashbacks to the time of each of their stories. Disturbing facts about the Gibson family makes this a horrifying episode.

27. Once Upon A Time: The Doctor (Season 2 Episode 5)

Storybrooke becomes home to a new monster, Frankenstein, otherwise known as Dr Whale, in this episode. Frankenstein is the first character to appear from literature that is not for children. In the present day, Dr Whale wants Regina’s help in bringing his brother back but she refuses because she’s trying not to use magic for Henry’s sake. Dr Whale revives Regina’s first love Daniel Colter by giving him an enchanted heart with disastrous results. Torn Limbs, hearts inserted and removed and an ogre massacre is just a  part of the action in this episode.

During a thunderstorm, Ty and Amy spend the night keeping an eye on the horses while Caleb, Soraya and Ashley try to frighten them. A tragic love story from years ago comes to light at the end.

30. That 70’s Show: Too Old to Trick or Treat, Too Young to Die (Season 3 Episode 4)

Fallon is dressed as Marie Antoinette and Adam is Louis XVI and ironically they both end up in Halloween cake following their fight. After his sister’s body is found in the Carrington Lake a few episodes back, Evan destroys Fallon’s garden which is part of her community service to try and ensure she goes to jail but later apologises.

The post 15 Books To Read If You Love ‘Stranger Things’ appeared first on The Nerd Daily.

Did we like the direction the Duffer Brothers took with the highly anticipated third season of Stranger Things? Did our predictions and wishes come true? We laughed, we sat on the edge of our seats, we murmured to ourselves that THAT BETTER NOT HAPPEN, and then we cried. Oh, my how we cried. Turn on the static and get your blind folds on—we’re about to go in and dissect season 3.

The Duffer Brothers definitely brought on the intensity and action with this summer adventure, and it was a lot gorier than our past two beloved seasons. We got the action and awesomely choreographed battle scenes with the mirror maze fight scene was so well done, you could feel the intensity! We had loads of nostalgia—did anyone else get all smiley when they saw the rides they used to go on!? And of course, the cast’s acting skills was phenomenal. The soundtrack and editing choices were also a nice touch to setting season 3 apart and despite them making each season unique and having their own vibe, it still feels connected.

Now, let’s take a look at some of our favourite, and not-so favourite, things that happened this season!

HIGHLIGHTS

Mike and El are adorable as ever, and we’re super happy their relationship became healthy and Mike admitted to what he was doing wrong to make things right again. Because let’s be honest, we can’t have Stranger Things without our precious Mileven!

Max and Lucas make an excellent and hilarious match while El & Max’s friendship couldn’t have been more amazing!

I think we can all agree we loved the Erica moments we got in season 2, and what did the Duffer Brothers give us? More of that fabulous Erica sass! YOU GO ERICA!

We got one of the best characters EVER, we got ROBIN. At first, we may have been a little hesitant to fully embrace her as a new party member (reminiscent to Max), but after we saw more and more of her character, we totally fell for her. And now, just like Max, we couldn’t picture any further seasons without her!

Not only is she unapologetically herself and we love the doodles on her red converses, but the Duffer Brothers created such a groundbreaking scene when she came out to Steve. The way Steve responded and carried the conversation was so refreshing to see, and we love him even more. He didn’t try to tell her it’s “just a phase” or “he’s different than other guys” he accepted her, and he didn’t make it awkward or forceful. Steve is an angel, a ‘mother’ of several children, an expert at scooping ice-cream, and just one hell of a guy. His character development keeps getting better and better, and we couldn’t be more thankful. And might I just say, Steve and Robin’s friendship is probably one of the most beautiful things to come out of season 3.

Let’s also take a moment to be grateful that the Duffer Brothers not only gave us an awesome character like Robin, but also a trippy scene that not only made us laugh but took us by surprise. Thank you, Duffers.

The wait to see the famous Suzie was TOTALLY WORTH IT as she is brilliant, adorable, awesome, and it was so much fun to see Dustin in love and in his element. Plus the singing was a cuteness overload!

Then there’s Joyce who is still the best and super intelligent, we got to see little Holly grow up, the casting of Cary Elwes was priceless, even though Mayor Larry was a total jerk, and we have to admit, Alexei rubbed off on us! Come on, we were all super happy he won that carnival prize and he was glowing and having fun, and then fricken heartbreak broke out when he was shot. I’M NOT CRYING YOU ARE.

THINGS WE LEARNED

Russian prisoners love cherry and Loony Toons, Lucas’s middle name is Charles, and El’s powers have become more powerful than what we’ve seen before and not only in her combat, like when she totally wrecked the gross goo monster in the hospital that was trying to attack Nancy, but also with her abilities beyond fighting with her powers.

Through Billy’s flashbacks, when El touches him to see where he’s been, we also see how deep and powerful El’s powers truly are. She can race through memories and feel what they feel, experiencing empathy with them, which totally came in handy during the last episode.

Now for a little sidebar—I’m sure we were all taken back, just like El was, when we saw Billy’s memories of his childhood and his mother. We got a peek into his world, what happened before Max came into the picture, and what made him so damaged. Seeing these things, seeing El run after little Billy and giving Billy’s dad the stank eye, it makes us sympathise with, essentially, the “villain” of the story. Before we saw those flashbacks, we didn’t think much of Billy beyond a bully and a guy who needs a serious attitude change. Now, we don’t want to see him as the bad guy. We want to help him and see more of his past and who he truly is underneath all that hurt. And in the end, we see him as the hero he always deep down wanted to be. This was a pretty brilliant move of the Duffer Brothers, oh those cunning Brothers.

Okay, back to what we’ve learned! Erica is a fab-sassy-nerd-math-wiz, My Little Pony is nerdy (and Dustin is their #1 fan), 80s fashion is so much fun, Murray is a born matchmaker—first Nancy and Johnathan and now Joyce and Hopper—and MIKE AND EL LOVE EACH OTHER.

THE NOT-SO GREAT

I’ll admit, at the beginning of the season I was a bit frustrated with some of the character development happening with the gang. Yes, they’re teenagers now, and yes, they’re growing apart from the “kid stuff” they used to do in the first season, but come on, seeing Will and Dustin just left out like that broke my heart. That being said, I realised we as an audience have in a sense formed a relationship with these characters. We’ve been with them through a lot and now through 3 seasons and with every relationship it goes through ups and downs.

And speaking of Will, his character was somewhat neglected. I really feel like he didn’t get to shine very much in this season. We would have LOVED to see more of Will and his perspective, instead of getting the occasional hairs standing on the back of his neck indicating ‘he’s here’, and seeing his friends totally dump him over. Granted, there was a lot going on in the storyline of this season and I’m sure the neglect of his character wasn’t done intentionally, but it would have been great to see more of him.

It was also kind of a bummer that we didn’t get to see the OG gang in action and hanging out together like old times, but again, this did create more for the storyline, and it showed a development and growth in the characters. I guess we just miss those cute little kids playing D&D in Mike’s basement.

THE ENDING

The season ends with the ‘supposed’ death of Hopper (we’ll get to that in minute) and Joyce, Jonathan, Will, and El moving out of Hawkins. We have to be put through the pain of seeing the gang say goodbye and wondering what will become of the two love relationships. When Will put his D&D stuff in the donation box and said he wouldn’t join another party, now he is the MVP. This whole move will definitely put a twist and dynamic on the next [most likely] season. I’m sensing a road trip may be in store for us, hopefully a killer montage comes out of that.

Now, back to Hopper. We were all CRUSHED when Joyce had to turn the keys, and we see Hop is no longer there. We’re devastated and waiting every second until the end for him to miraculously come back. But alas, we were left with a broken heart. Come on Duffers, first Barbara, then Bob, Alexei, Billy, and now HOPPER! You’re killing us!

UNTIL…If you waited through the credits and saw the small clip from a Russian prison, and two of the Russian guards are going to a cell, you’ll see that one of them says “No. Not the American.” This gives us a flicker of hope that Hop is still alive, and we’ll see him back in action again. Now that is a solid prediction, I mean come on there’s no way Hop is going to let a little Russian scandal get in the way of his date with Joyce Byers.

The post The Highs and Lows of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 appeared first on The Nerd Daily.

Some generations will say they had The Twilight Zone, others will say they had The X Files, and in our case, we can spell it out in Christmas lights that we have STRANGER THINGS.

The Duffer brothers have gifted this generation with a phenomenal phenomenon of a show. And we’ve been on the edges of our bingeing couches waiting for season 3 to unveil what’s next for our beloved show. The third season will consist of eight episodes and be released worldwide on July 4th 2019, and to prepare ourselves for whatever lies ahead of our Stranger Things journey, let’s recap the shows creation and development as a whole.

There’s a lot of ground to cover, so make sure you’ve got your walkie-talkies, plenty of snacks (3 Musketeers are a must), Eggos, and your nifty little baseball bat with all the nails in it—it’s time for a Stranger Things recap!

Back in 2016, when the show first premiered, it shook Netflix audiences to its sci-fi core, and obviously left us wanting more when the season ended. There’s nothing like it! This show not only has one of the most unique storylines we have seen on screen in a while, its cinematography is aesthetically pleasing, but it is so personal and makes you feel engulfed in the world the Duffer brothers have created. The show’s soundtrack is magnificent, and can we get a round of applause for its iconic theme song that gives us chills?! Though these are elements of the show that make it the masterpiece it is, it wouldn’t be the same without its award-winning cast. It is fantastic, and in some senses rare, that we have had the pleasure to see the cast physically grow up along with their characters and see the deep development within each character. That is something huge in a good story: good character development. The Duffer brothers have made sure that each character was well developed, and we even got more characters in season 2! This is why we fell so in love with these characters, because the Duffer brothers take good care of making sure we felt a connection with them, and that connection and development didn’t cease to exist in season 2.

Both seasons of the show have tons of quotes and moments we could cover, and it’s difficult to pick out just a few, but we’re going to separate the two seasons are dissect them individually.

SEASON 1

From the very first episode we get such a good understanding of not only the time Hawkins is in, but also the roles and personalities of the characters. The Pilot is a crucial episode for a TV show’s life expectancy, and the Duffer brothers [of course] nailed it. The pace of the storyline and each episode was nicely laid out, and we automatically feel a connection to the characters.

Season 1 gave us many hilarious moments:

Touching Moments:

Heartbreaking Moments:

Well, we know every time someone cries we’re pretty much drenched in tears as well, but here’s some real tearjerkers.

And of course, the awesome and iconic moments:

When season 1 ended, it left us with a broken heart for Mike and Eleven (still not over it), conflict between the relationships of Nancy with Steve and Nancy with Jonathan, and our grievance of Barb #JusticeForBarb. We had high hopes for season 2, and lots of questions that needed answers. And the Duffer brothers delivered graciously.

SEASON 2

Stranger Things fans were excited yet nervous for its season 2 arrival, for the fear that it wouldn’t live up to its fantastic first season. But man were we shocked at how amazing it was, and I think its maybe even slightly better than the first season! I love the dynamic of relationships the Duffer brothers gave us in season 2, they really spoiled us with that. We get the relationship of Hopper and El, Steve and Dustin, Mike and Will, Max and Lucas, Hopper and Joyce, El and her lost sister, Bob and Will, and for crying out loud, Dustin and Dart! There’s even more that we can think of, but the important thing is that these new relationships didn’t take away from the plot we were already given and in fact, it enriched it and made the story even more compelling.

As an audience, we crave to see those deep and emotional relationships build between characters. We were touched and moved by the relationship between Hopper and El and how much we got to see of their relationship, plus how many different emotions it had. El even found new relationships with lots of people, but most memorably, her lost sister. You could really tell how much it impacted her and meant the world to her, and it was in this episode we saw how strong El has become and what she is capable of.

And, but of course, we were thankful for Bob and all his cheesy jokes and how happy he made Joyce, but we were secretly still hoping and eating up those Joyce and Hopper moments. Lastly, a quick shout out to Lucas’s little sister whom made us laugh on several occasions during the second season.

Now, let’s take a peek back to the character development for a moment here!

In the beginning of season 1, we see Steve as the bad boy and we don’t care too much for him in the beginning, but then those sly Duffer brothers make us feel all sorts of emotion for him towards the end and especially in season 2. Our hearts go out to him!

This scene killed me. And it was also the starting point to our deep empathy for the poor guy. Then there’s Steve and Dustin’s relationship, it really blossomed. Dustin’s first words about Steve is that he’s a jerk, and by the end of season 2 Steve is driving Dustin to his first school dance and their hair is all matchy with hair products. For many, Steve’s character developed into one of the favourites! Now that’s some screen writing talent right there. And can I just say one of my favourite things that came from season 2 (amongst many) is the hilarious comparison the world inspired after the season aired that Steve is the “Mother Role” of the gang.

Now, we also see a deep development in Will and how much he is still connected with the upside down; Nancy and Jonathan’s relationship grows into romance; El transitions from ‘Pretty’ to ‘Bitchin’; and one of the most heartbreaking realisations was seeing how poor Max and her step brother Billy’s relationship was. We are just so appreciatively engulfed by all these developments and emotions, not only are we connected with the characters, we are connected with the world that they’re in. And that’s why I believe season 2 was such an outstanding comeback.

As an audience we learned A LOT in season 2, about the upside down, character’s backstories, how we’re definitely not over Bob and so much more.

So, what were we left with? We finally got another Mike and El kiss at the Snowball dance, as did Lucas and Max and during the Snowball, we are shifted into the upside down where we see the shadow monster has returned. There are lots of memorable moments in the show, characters we love, characters we’ll miss, and hopes and wishes for the third season. What can we deduct from the trailers of the third season, and what do we want to happen? Onwards!

SEASON 3

From the trailers released, we can get a sense for what the season will be like and make some predictions of our own and might I say, I think we’re really in for a spectacular season! Based on our research from the transition of the first season to the second, I’ll bet we can look forward to further character development, new and progressing relationships, and more hilarious moments. Each season has had its iconic moments and fashion, and I mean come on, what’s better then some 80’s summer threads? And from what we see in the trailers, El seems to be there the whole time, so we can look forward to some much-needed Mike & El moments. So, let’s discuss what we know, and our predictions.

Here’s what we know:

• We’ve got an 80’s carnival summer vibe
• The characters have matured and they’re growing up (and El’s vocabulary has gotten better!)
• The shadow monster is out for revenge
• Jonathan got a haircut

Within the trailers we can see some new faces, but we’re reassured that the gang is still close and awesome as ever, and it even looks like El and Max become besties!

Predictions:

• We can look forward to a huge battle scene
• Maybe Hopper and Joyce will finally get together
• From the voiceover the trailer provided, along with the scene it showed in the trailer, it almost looked like some of our favourite grown-up characters (Hopper, Joyce) might be possessed by the shadow monster as Will was in season 2.
• Something is up with Nancy and Jonathan’s relationship
• Steve finds a new gal?
• And it appears Dustin is kind of feeling left out by the gang, so there’s some conflict between the party members

Just from the trailers alone we get chills! So, we can’t even begin to imagine what the Duffer brothers will put us through in their epic third season that hits Netflix on July 4th!

What do you think will happen? What were some of your favourite Stranger Things moments? Tell us in the comments below!

This show is designed to make you think. We’re in a realm that frequently uses technology in our everyday existence and we end up putting an awfully large amount of energy into it. We of course aim to make our lives better with it, but are we getting better though, or only getting worse? This twisted show will leave you hooked for sure and might even leave you wanting to live remotely in the woods!

Set in 1980’s, it is centred on four nerdy friends and how their lives drastically change when one of them goes missing. While searching for him, they encounter a strange girl on a rainy night. Weird labs, conspiracies, and upside down planes of existence, this show has it all! The young cast of fantastic actors lead this series to its full glory. This show will leave you holding your breath with its many hilarious, but terrifying moments.

The IT Crowd

The IT Crowd isn’t a showcase of futuristic tech, but rather a look at the shenanigans of the mismatched rabble of the IT department in the fictional Denholm Industries. In a claustrophobic basement of a skyscraper building, we find an IT department consisting of 3 members, the lovable Moss, the sarcastic Roy, and the voice of reason, Jen. The show is massively quotable, at times surreal, and takes what could have been a simple sitcom about an office IT department and raises it to cult classic status thanks to the writing and the quality of the lead performances.

The Big Bang Theory

How can any list be complete without including this show! Now in its final season, the show follows two physicists and their friends who go through life one socially awkward situation at a time. The hilarious punch lines and the top-notch actors make the show the big hit that it is. There’s constant scientific theory and tech banter with cameos of real life scientists like Stephen Hawking, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Bill Nye.

Mr Robot

If you are among the ones who are done with the current political, economic, and social structure and wish to bring it down, this series is totally for you. The lead character Elliot is a cyber security engineer by day and a vigilant hacker by night, who wants to bring down the corporate America by destroying the financial records. But all isn’t going smoothly ever since Elliot is diagnosed with a mental illness.

Firefly

500 years in the future, in a world combining futuristic space travel and border planets that exist with the most basic of technology, Firefly is lovingly referred to as “space-western.” A renegade crew aboard a small spacecraft tries to survive as they travel the unknown parts of the galaxy and evade warring factions as well as authority agents out to get them. Captain Mal and his crew may be thieves, but they’ll fight to death to do what’s right. With a combination of wit and drama, this show will make you laugh, think, cry, and stand up and cheer.

Legion

The show focuses on the mutant David Haller, a.k.a Legion. He just so happens to be one of the most powerful mutants alive as he tries to navigate his new powers and tries not to let his mind wander. He’s also the son of Charles Xavier. Legion is a character meant to blow your mind as he is complex filled with psychological, emotional storylines,  and characterisation that can get a little weird. This show absolutely nails everything you thought about the title characters. It’s funky, bizarre, wacky, and downright brilliant. It brings viewers a fantastically beautiful and insane piece of TV that you can’t help but binge.

Sherlock

Based on the books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, this modern update finds the famous detective and his doctor partner solving crime in 21st century London. This show is so amazing that you can’t help but re-watch it again. With brilliant actors and direction, this show is loved by its audience.  Sherlock is smart, sassy, intricate, and wildly entertaining.

Altered Carbon

Altered Carbon is an ambitious sci-fi series set around 350 years in the future, in a world where humans are able to upload and download digital versions of themselves onto ‘stacks’ (hardware stored in the base of the neck). This means humans can switch and upgrade bodies at will, making death a thing of the past for most. The opening episode of Altered Carbon sees trained killer Takeshi Kovacs wake up in prison to find himself in a new body. He’s given the choice to either stay there or accept a job solving the murder of one of the world’s wealthiest men, Laurens Bancroft.

The post You’ll Be An Eleven With These Stranger Things Gifts appeared first on The Nerd Daily.

The second season of Netflix’s hit original series, Stranger Things, premiered a few days ago, and while it features many of our favourite characters, there are also a few new faces. Read on to learn about the new characters (with minor spoilers) and if you haven’t watched the second season, get on it as the Duffer Brothers have really outdone themselves.

Which new character do you like the most? Have you binged the new season? Tell us in the comments below!

Kali (Linnea Berthelsen)

Kali is the first new addition to appear in Season 2 and she is the eighth child to come out of the Hawkins lab and she was also in the same room as Eleven. She is introduced into the series in the opening scene of the first episode, and her power is to control what people can see, which she does to Eleven at one point so she can convince her to stay. Kali also aids Eleven in being able to strengthen and control her powers further by using anger and bad memories. Her character is referred to as Kali, Roman, and Eight.

Linnea is a relatively new actress, but we can be certain she will be popping up more after her role in Stranger Things.

Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman)

Murray Bauman is seen with Chief Hopper in the police station, talking conspiracy theories about a Russian girl gone missing and the absences of Barbara Holland. This former journalist turn detective, doesn’t appear too much throughout the series, however, he does play a key role.

Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery)

Billy Hargrove is the step sibling of Maxine and their family has just come from California. Transferring to Hawkins sees him assume the role of the new tough guy as the producers said they wanted a human villain, and that is exactly what he is. Naturally Steve is no longer the “cool guy”, so tension arises between them. (P.S—Did Stranger Things just find Zac Efron’s doppelgänger?)

Dacre has starred in Power Rangers (2017) and A Few Less Men.

Maxine Hargrove (Sadie Sink)

Maxine Hargrove, or more commonly known as Max, is the younger step sibling of Billy. She’s also known as MadMax at the arcade as she manages to beat Dustin’s high score for Dig Dug. Max joins the group and she is mainly treated as outcast, especially by Mike, however, Both Dustin and Lucas are interested in her. Unfortunately for Dustin, Lucas gets the girl and the pair share a dance at the end of the second season.

Sadie has starred in American Odyssey and The Glass Castle.

Bob Newby (Sean Astin)

Bob Newby is Joyce Byers new boyfriend in Season 2. He plays a key role of being an almost father figure for Will, and even helps out with the demogorgon. Along with sympathising with Will’s condition, he cares significantly for Joy and Bob becomes a brave character. Just like the first season with Barb, people are demanding #JusticeForBob.

Sean has starred in The Goonies and The Lord of The Rings.

Dr. Sam Owens (Paul Reiser)

Dr. Sam Owens is the man who tries to fix it all, but only ends up making it worse. He works beside Chief Hopper and assists with helping Will get back on his feet throughout the series, but he also works at Hawkins Lab. Dr. Owens plays both a villain and a heron in the season, despite being a rather hopeless doctor the majority of the time. Since the series is set in the eighties, his character seems to really emphasise the time in which it is set by ensuring his character stays true to what they would have known at that time.

Paul has starred in Aliens (1986) and Whiplash.

Perhaps Aliens and The Goonies will feature in the third season of Stranger Things? Now won’t that be interesting!

The post The New ‘Stranger Things’ Cast Members appeared first on The Nerd Daily.

In the second season of Stranger Things, it’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

The new season will open a few days before Halloween 1984 with everyone trying to put the events of the previous year behind them. Will Byers is being harassed at his school and he’s plagued by nightmares of the Upside Down, in which there are times he believes he is still trapped there.

Maxine (Sadie Sink), or Max, is the new girl in town who enjoys skateboarding and she’s even better at video games then the boys. But just like anyone else, she has her own secrets. She also catches the eyes of Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) who try to impress her.

While her presence is welcomed by some, it is rejected by Mike (Finn Wolfhard) who sits in his basement still waiting for a message from Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).

The series has also cast two ’80s icons with Sean Astin (The Goonies) playing Bob, a new man in Joyce’s life, and Paul Reiser (Aliens) as Dr. Owens who will monitor Will’s episodes, but be of no use.

Starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Cara Buono, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery, Sadie Sink, Sean Astin, and Paul Reiser.
