Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) introduced the new trailer for Zack Snyder’s upcoming film, which finds the five lone heroes uniting in the face of a new danger. While Henry Cavill (Superman) was not in attendance, the trailer still teased Superman’s return after his in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The new trailer introduces us to the movie’s main villain, Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) and features a return to Diana’s home of Themyscira where Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) and the rest of the Amazons come face-to-face with the film’s threat. It also promises many badass action sequences for each character, albeit not all the CGI is up to scratch as one might hope. As assumed, Ezra Miller’s Flash will be providing the comedic relief, which more than likely will be a downfall for the film if too many scenes are filled with his character’s trademark humour.

Let’s hope Justice League can learn a thing or two from the Wonder Woman film.

Justice League hits theatres November 17th.

After an epic cliffhanger in Season 1 of Riverdale, San Diego Comic Con is here to further tease us with the upcoming new season! The second season will pick up right where it left off after Archie’s father, Fred Andrews, was shot at Pop’s, which may not have been accidentally… But we will know who shot Fred by the end of the first episode.

Thankfully we won’t have to wait too long for the new season, which started filming a couple of weeks ago and returns back to our screens in October. Jumping from 13 to 22 episodes will change the series immensely, but it will give the second season a chance to explore ‘Dark Archie’, as the cast refer to him.

“There’s a switch that goes off, and I think it’s a different side of Archie we haven’t seen yet,” said KJ Apa who plays Archie.

In the short video, Archie carries his father into the hospital while the rest of the gang arrives, and Archie tries to figure out what happened. Pop Tate (Alvin Sanders) says, “It was like the angel of death had come to Riverdale.” Then cuts to Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) at the bedside of her mother whose face is covered in bandages. “Things are going to be different now, Mommy,” she says. “You’ll see.”

So it seems Archie won’t be only one exploring their dark side more and Lily Reinhart, who plays Betty, says “Last season we saw some dark Betty but this season it’s more like tortured soul Betty.”

The new season will also feature new faces such Mark Consuelos, who will play Veronica’s dad, and Charles Melton, who will be replacing Ross Butler as Reggie. Also joining is Vanessa Morgan as Toni Topaz, an openly bisexual character from the comics who will stir things up for the characters.

Riverdale Season 2 returns October 12th.

Scored to the brilliant Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ using Vincent Price’s creepy narration, the new trailer teases the return of the Upside Down when Will sees a vision and progressively becomes crazed by them.

The new season is set in 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

Showrunner Ross Duffer said at the Stranger Things panel, they “wanted it to look like one of those Stephen King books that we devoured,” and it definitely looks like that is the case!

Starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Cara Buono, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery, Sadie Sink, Sean Astin, and Paul Reiser.

Stranger Things Season 2 premieres globally October 27th on Netflix.

Set in 2044, people hide from the declining Earth in a virtual-reality simulator called the OASIS. In the film, teenager Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) finds himself in a treasure hunt of a game that’s peppered with exciting 1980s references. Watts leaves his home in The Stacks, a slummy area of RVs and trailer homes piled high on each other, and enters a world of giant scorpions, monster trucks, “Tron”-style racing motorcycles and retro icons including Freddy Krueger and The Iron Giant.

From the short teaser, and the fact Spielberg is directing, it certainly seems as though this is going to be an epic adaption of the novel.

Starring Tye Sheridan (X-Men: Apocalypse) as Wade and Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel) as Art3mis alongside Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One), Mark Rylance (Dunkirk), Simon Pegg (Star Trek), T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley), and Hannah John-Kamen (Killjoys).

Ready Player One hits theatres in March next year.

American Horror Story: Cult

Murphy has previously revealed that the first episode of this season will open on Election Night of 2016 – a real horror story for everyone who lived through it. The season is said to have political undertones, and with this new title reveal it becomes a little clearer how this might be the case. We can expect to see strong ideologies clashing, and supernatural forces interacting with these beliefs.

The marketing so far has referenced a honeycomb structure – strongly implying the hive mentality of bees. This imagery has clear political and cultish undertones.

This season we have Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Adina Porter, Frances Conroy, and Cheyenne Jackson returning as main cast, with newcomers such as Billie Lourd, Lena Dunham, Colton Haynes, and Billy Eichner joining them.

Season 7 will also see the return of the traditional creepy opening credits, which were dropped from last year’s AHS: Roanoke in favour of a more realistic found-footage style season.

AHS: Cult will air in September 5th on FX.

The new series follows a suburban couple, played by Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker, whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children (Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White) possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

As for if the X-Men will appear in The Gifted, showrunner Matt Nix discussed where the series fits into the Marvel universe in relation to the films.

“Thanks to Days of Future Past there are many streams and we are not in the same timeline in the X-universe. As in the comics and universe, the idea is that we are doing our own thing. Right now, one of the things covered in the show is that the X-Men — why are they gone? The show covers that,” he said. “Are they gone because they too expensive for television, not exactly,” But that could definitely be a factor.

Starring Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Jamie Chung (Once Upon A Time), Amy Acker (Persons of Interest), Sean Teale (Reign), Emma Dumont (Aquarius), Natalie Alyn Lind (The Goldbergs), Coby Bell (Burn Notice), Percy Hynes White (Between) and Blair Redford (The Lying Game).

The series comes from Burn Notice showrunner Matt Nix and will also executive produce alongside Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Marvel Television’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. The pilot has been directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men) who will executive produce the series too.

The Gifted premieres October 2nd on Fox.

Ahead of its panel on Saturday at San Diego Comic Con, Syfy has released a short teaser of their upcoming series, which is set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet. Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honour and save his beloved world from chaos.

Starring Cameron Cuffe (The Halycon), Georgina Campbell (King Arthur: Legend of The Sword), Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones), Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons) and Ann Ogbomo (Wonder Woman).

Based on DC characters, Krypton is executive produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy). Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.

Krypton premieres on Syfy in 2018.

Bad Boys meets Lord of The Rings, or ‘Straight Outta Tolkien’ as some are calling it after viewing the first trailer for Netflix’s most expensive film to date.

The first trailer for the $90 million action-thriller-fantasy film premiered at San Diego Comic Con, and the incredibly strange trailer is causing mixed reviews already.

Set in an alternate present-day, this action-thriller directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad) follows two cops from very different backgrounds.  Ward, a human (Will Smith), and Jakoby, an orc (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine night patrol that will alter the future of their world as they know it.  Battling both their own personal differences as well as an onslaught of enemies, they must work together to protect a deadly, thought-to-be-forgotten relic, which in the wrong hands could destroy everything.

Starring Will Smith (Men In Black), Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo), Lucy Fry (Vampire Academy), Edgar Ramirez (The Girl on the Train), Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project), Enrique Murciano, Jay Hernandez, Andrea Navedo (Jane the Virgin), Dawn Olivieri (House of Lies), and Kenneth Choi (American Crime Story).

The film is directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad) and written by Max Landis. David Ayer, Eric Newman, and Bryan Unkeless serve as producers.

Bright hits Netflix on December 22nd.
