You four – the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, the smartass detective, the righteous ex-con and the kid with the glowing fist – the war for New York is here. So get your shit together.

The first trailer for Marvel’s The Defenders has been released and it looks promising with it packed full of action, banter and a fantastic cast!

Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) who come together after their standalone series. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

The series will pick up after the events of Iron Fist and will feature Sigourney Weaver as Alexandra, who will be the big bad for the series. The new trailer also confirms the resurrection of Elodie Yung’s Elektra as she helps kick down our team in a mandatory hallway fight scene.

Starring Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, Charlie Cox, Sigourney Weaver, Elodie Yung, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Henwick.

The Defenders hits Netflix on August 18th.

Entertainment Weekly released the first look images and a short video of the cast during their magazine covershoot.

The group will meet at Midland Circle (where that giant hole Daredevil found in Season 2 was located) and before the group can properly meet one another, they must fight their way out of the corridor and past their enemies. We also know that The Hand will be part of the plot.

We have also been given a little more information about Sigourney Weaver’s character, who will play the villain in the show. Her character’s name is Alexandra and showrunner Marco Ramirez says, “Her character is a very powerful force in New York City. She’s everything Sigourney is: sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous.”

The Defenders is set to hit Netflix this year around June/July. But first we will be seeing Iron Fist, which premiers March 17th.
