Ahead of its panel on Saturday at San Diego Comic Con, Syfy has released a short teaser of their upcoming series, which is set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet. Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honour and save his beloved world from chaos.

Starring Cameron Cuffe (The Halycon), Georgina Campbell (King Arthur: Legend of The Sword), Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones), Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons) and Ann Ogbomo (Wonder Woman).

Based on DC characters, Krypton is executive produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy). Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.

Krypton premieres on Syfy in 2018.
