Netflix has a few miniseries set to release with The Spy starring Sacha Baron Cohen, The I-Land starring Kate Bosworth, Unbelievable starring Toni Collette, and Criminal starring David Tennant. The streaming giant also brings The Politician to the service with many familiar names including Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, and Zoey Deutch.
This month also sees many new series start up! September sees Simon Missick star in All Rise, Jimmy Smits in Bluff City Law, Michael Sheen in Prodigal Son, Cobie Smulders in Stumptown, Mike Colter in Evil, and Forest Whitaker in Godfather of Harlem.
Wu-Tang: An American Saga is inspired by “The Wu-Tang Manual” and “Tao of Wu” – The RZA’s written philosophy and history of the Wu-Tang Clan. Starring Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Shameik Moore (The Get Down), and Dave East (Beats). Premieres September 4th on Hulu.
Sacha Baron Cohen stars in The Spy, a new Netflix Original series, which is inspired by the real-life story of former Mossad agent, Eli Cohen. Premieres September 6th on Netflix.
When ten people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home. Starring Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns), Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four), and Natalie Martinez (The Crossing). Premieres September 12th on Netflix.
Unbelievable is inspired by real events where a teen reports and eventually recants her reported rape, while two female detectives, states away, investigate evidence that could reveal the truth. Starring Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart), Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine), and Meritt Wever (The Walking Dead). Premieres September 13th on Netflix.
Criminal is a police procedural with a unique premise: it takes place exclusively within the confines of a police interview suite. Comprised of 12 stories, the new series is set in four different countries and filmed in four different languages with three episodes each. Starring David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter).
