As a big Cornwell fan, I have all her books. I read Quantum and all I can think is, Okay is this a joke? Who actually wrote this book? It couldn’t be the same author that gave us the Scarpetta series? I was so disappointed, I don’t understand it. Where’s the story? It jumped around so much from what’s going on in the moment to things that happened before, to technical mumbo jumbo. It does it without warning, without a reason. The book was just totally confusing. Unfortunately I bought the 2nd book Spin at the same time. I know I’ll HAVE to read it, but I’m not looking forward to it.

Normally I love Cornwell’s books, but I’m on page 26 of this one and bored out of my mind. Cornwell, JUST TELL THE STORY without all the jargon and repetition. Better yet, stay out of science fiction. Not your genre for SURE.

Who actually wrote this book? I only got halfway through before giving up, and I have been an avid reader of the Scarpetta books. Two full pages of jargon for every one line of story advancement. The incessant repetition of the inane idea that it might not be a murder scene. Five or six or seven flashbacks about a cut finger?

So vague, so aggravating, so non-conclusive and such a chore to wade through. I’d like to know, maybe by reading the next book, what it was all supposed to be leading up to, but not sure I can be bothered!

Usually love Patricia Cornwell’s book but this one was so difficult to follow and truly bizarre – I still don’t get it and I’m a very patient reader. Won’t bother with anymore in this series.

I always see the name Patricia Cornwell at the bookstore. So when her new novel Quantum was on sale for kindle, I jumped at the chance to sample this author. I abandoned this book after about 4 chapters as it didn’t make sense and didn’t draw me in.

terrible like reading a text book with no ending bring back early Scarpetta will not be reading any more of this series could not read more than 2-4 pages at a time

Agreed with comments above.The ending, is not an ending….where’s the rest of it?
Normally I can read a Scarpetta book in a weekend, this one took me weeks to finish.

In reply to Mimi. I did not enjoy this book at all!! I didn't understand all the initials for things! I've never read a book that did not solve the mysteries! So who did all of this!??? It will be quite a while before I buy another one of her books! Judy
