Call of Cthulhu

While not a November/December release, I feel like Call of Cthulhu from Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studio at least deserves a mention somewhere in great jumble that is the third quarter releases this year.

Bringing Lovecraftian horror to the world, Call of Cthulhu follows on in the same style as 2005’s Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. Full of dark horror references and leaving combat by the wayside, Cthulhu drops the player into the dark and dank world of Darkwater. Instead of fighting for your life, this first-person RPG focuses more upon investigation and maintaining your sanity in your quest for answers. While not for everyone, Call of Cthulhu is the perfect mix of immersive horror and Lovecraftian literature. This lady is ridiculously psyched for its release on October 30 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! / Drum Session!

Look at that cover! Who could resist these ridiculously excited looking Japanese drums! With the first instalment in this addictive Japanese game being released on PS2 back in 2004, and then fading into the background before developing a cult following, the Taiko drums are back with new graphics and plenty of fun to keep the whole family entertained. Boasting a large selection of mini games and a large variety of tracks (including anime themes and Japanese pop) by which to beat away your woes, Taiko works perfectly with the controllers in order to help you hit that coveted perfect streak. It releases on November 2nd on both Nintendo Switch and PS4

Spyro Reignited Trilogy

Everyone favourite purple dragon is back this November in all its remake glory!

Featuring not one, not two, but all three original Spyro games, this trilogy will take you back to your childhood with new graphics and the same stories know and love. Not content with simply remastering the graphics, the team at Sony have rebuilt all three games from the ground up with it now boasting a more streamlined system of controls. Burn those enemies, collect those gems and free your friends on November 13th on PS4 and Xbox One.

Hitman 2

Return to the world’s deadliest assassin, Agent 47, this November as you track your targets across the world through exotic locations, while utilising stealth and increasingly elaborate costumes. While changing hands from its original owner, Square Enix, to its new home at WB Games, Hitman 2 guarantees just as many thrills as before.

With more options than ever, you decide whether to employ stealth to take out your targets or mow them down in a hail of bullets. Will you take on the appearance of the formally clad Agent 47 or don some ridiculous outfit with which to blend with the crowd (no one ever suspects the flamingo guy). You can decide on November 13th on PS4 and Xbox One.

Fallout 76

You’re trapped in a wasteland with hideously deformed creatures in the middle of an apocalypse, so what do you do? Grab the nearest piece of trash and shoot it at your enemies of course!

Continuing on with Bethesda’s ever popular Fallout franchise is the latest instalment, Fallout 76. Set in the wasteland that was America, the player starts out in Vault 76, a ‘control vault’, one in which the occupants were never exposed to strange experiments or endless testing -just good old American nurturing. What could go wrong right? Following on in the vein of its predecessors, 76 allows the player to embark on a journey of discovery while also allowing the rampant slaughter of the Wastelands occupants.

Not wanting to release something we’ve seen before, Fallout 76 now allows multiplayer mode should you so desire, teaming up with up to 3 others in order to keep your settlements safe. And speaking of settlements, players can expect something a little different with the ability to destroy other players establishments now available, as is the ability to move your town at a moment’s notice.

Full of all the bits we know and love along with some new and wonderful features, Fallout 76 releases on November 14th on PS4, Xbox One and PC

Pokémon Lets Go

I want to be, the very best, like no one ever was’.

Be the ultimate Pokémon trainer with Pokémon Let’s Go, coming November 2018. Returning back to its 1998 roots of Pokémon Yellow, Let’s Go is set in the Kanto region and features the original 151 Pokémon in all their glory, as well as their future evolutions, just ripe for the capture. Choose between Eevee or Pikachu as your starter, each having different traits affecting your characters development.

As an added bonus, Let’s Go interfaces with the always popular, Pokémon Go, allowing the player to import any previously caught Pokémon into the game.

Should you want to feel like the ultimate trainer, Nintendo is also offering a version of the game which comes with a Pokeball, a JoyCon of sorts enabling the entirety of the game to be played without every having to touch another controller. The clincher though? The Pokeball contains a special Pokémon within, that is unable to be caught through gameplay.

Battle the Gym Leaders and claim your place as the best on Switch on November 16th.

Battlefield 5

The popular Battlefield franchise continues this year with Battlefield 5, a first-person shooter which takes the player back to its roots in World War 2.

Having done away with its massive campaign modes with the previous entry, Battlefield One, Battlefield 5 still allows its players to scratch their single player itch in the form of War Stories, a shorter campaign designed to be completed in a short period of time. Although still boasting its massive multiplayer maps, developer DICE has done away with the traditional season pass content in favour of limited-time events with which to shake things up.

As always, the player can choose from a wide variety of character classes including Medic, Assault and Recon but now allows all classes to come to the aid of their fallen allies as they cry out for a res. Also, as an added bonus, Battlefield will also include a Battle Royale mode, pitting sixteen teams of four against each other to see who is the ultimate survivor.

Battlefield 5 releases on November 20th on PS4, Xbox One and PC
