Adapted from the 1984 novel by Ross Thomas, Briarpatch is a new crime anthology series on USA Network with Rosario Dawson in the lead role.
Briarpatch follows Allegra Dill (Rosario Dawson), a dogged investigator returning to her border-town Texas home after her sister is murdered. What begins as a search for a killer turns into an all-consuming fight to bring her corrupt hometown to its knees.
The season also features Clyde Brattle (Alan Cumming), an elegant, charming, and murderous arms dealer. He arrives in town to wreak havoc and settle some old scores; Eve Raytek (Kim Dickens), the local Chief of Police and an authoritative firecracker; and Jake Spivey (Jay R. Ferguson), Allegra’s childhood best friend and former running buddy. Once the poorest kid in town, he’s returned from years of shadowy business abroad and reinvented himself as the region’s richest swell.
The season celebrates the beloved genres represented by Thomas’ book, a stylish blend of crime and pulp fiction, while updating his sense of fun, danger, and place for a new generation.
Starring Rosario Dawson (Luke Cage), Alan Cumming (The Good Wife), Kim Dickens (Fear The Walking Dead), Jay R. Ferguson (Mad Men), Brian Geraghty (Chicago P.D.), and Edi Gathegi (StartUp).
Briarpatch premieres February 6th on USA Network with 10 episodes.
