Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, the makers of the Sherlock television series, transform the Count Dracula legend with new tales. Claes Bang takes up the role of Dracula in this brand-new series inspired by Bram Stoker’s classic novel.
The series initially started out as a joke according to Moffat, “We’d done Sherlock Holmes and the second most filmed character as we make our way down the list of plagiarism, was Dracula. As we talked about it, we started having ideas that we thought were quite good. It got to the point where we thought we should take this seriously.”
Starring Claes Bang (The Girl in the Spider’s Web), John Heffernan (Ripper Street), Dolly Wells (Blunt Talk), Joanna Scanlan (No Offence), Morfydd Clark (Patrick Melrose), Luzja Richter (Phantom Thread), Jonathan Aris (Sherlock), Sacha Dhawan (Iron Fist), Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits), Catherine Schell (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service), Youssef Kerkour (Jack Ryan), and Clive Russell (Game of Thrones).
Jonny Campbell (Westworld), Damon Thomas (Killing Eve) and Paul McGuigan (Sherlock) direct the series.
The mini-series premieres January 1st on BBC One and then January 4th on Netflix with a total of three 90-minute episodes.
