To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the original Blade Runner film, a new featurette has been released looking at the series and the upcoming sequel!
This weekend will mark 35 years since the iconic sci-fi film premiered in 1982, but the series is set to continue this year with Harrison Ford reprising his role along with Ryan Gosling. Entertainment Weekly released an exclusive 4-minute long featurette filled with behind-the-scenes footage and snippets from the film, which looks as though it will be another masterpiece!
The majority of the plot is being kept underwraps, but we do know the film is set thirty years after the events of the first and sees a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearth a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
In the featurette, Harrison Ford speaks about what it’s like to reprise a role thirty-odd years later, which he has already done twice with Star Wars and Indiana Jones. “I think it’s kind of fun to play a character 30 years later. The story, the themes, the stunning visual environments — it was a pleasure to get back in the world of Blade Runner again.”
Starring Ryan Gosling (La La Land), Harrison Ford (Star Wars), MacKenzie Davis (Halt & Catch Fire), Lennie James (The Walking Dead), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Jared Leto (Suicide Squad).
Blade Runner 2049 hits cinemas in October.
