Okay it’s time to brace yourselves. Get those tissues ready and maybe even some chocolate? Season 15 of the now record-breaking Grey’s Anatomy is hitting our screens with a 2 hour premiere (*screams*) on September 27th. As always, fans are expecting a lot from this season. So, what’s in store for our friends at Grey Sloan Memorial this season? Keep reading to find out some juicy gossip on the latest season.
The trailer for season fifteen highlights a love triangle between Owen, Amelia, and Teddy (Kim Raver), who returns as a series regular as interim chief after Miranda Bailey takes a sabbatical. Teddy also reveals she is pregnant, which, come on guys, we all know who the father is going to be… Rhymes with Rowan… Duh, so that’ll be fun.
The trailer also hints at ‘hot new docs’, one being in the form of Nashville star Chris Carmack, an orthopaedic surgeon so skilled he’s being called an “ortho god” by fellow surgeons. Also joining the cast is Alex Landis (played Nico Kim), Grey Sloan’s first gay surgeon. While the show has had numerous LGBT characters, Nico will be the first gay surgeon, which is another big step for the show.
In the trailer, we see a steamy moment between Meredith and DeLuca (wow, yes I’m shipping them!!). According to TV Line, season 15 will see Meredith finding her way back to a meaningful, loving relationship after losing Derek. She’ll apparently be dating again, showrunner Krista Vernoff told TV Line.
“It’s hard,” Vernoff said about dating. “Everybody has to do it, so it’s very human and very relatable. I was really interested in seeing someone as beautiful and smart and funny and complex as Meredith actually have to put herself out there.”
The trailer doesn’t even begin to cover the ‘season of feels’, which the show is being promoted as. What’s going to happen with Maggie and Jackson? What about Alex and Jo, are they just living together in wedded bliss? I think not. Will any of our other favourites return?
I guess we’ll just have to tune in on Thursday 27th September to find out for ourselves!
