What a great interview! Shelley Noble’s background as a professional dancer before becoming an author is such a fascinating journey, and it really makes sense that someone used to embodying characters through movement would have that same attention to detail in storytelling. The way she described writing as a natural extension of journaling and travel notes is really relatable. The Sisters of Book Row sounds like such a timely and compelling read, especially the theme of women protecting books and ideas under pressure. Looking forward to picking it up!

We read Saltcrop for our monthly book club that caters to folks with a need for escapism into fantasy, horror, sci-fi and romantasy. We meet tomorrow and I’m processing this book that I finished about ten minutes ago by looking up more information. I need to figure out when Yume is in Cincinnati. We meet right across the river from Cincy in Covington!

Thanks for sharing this interview! I am two chapters from finishing The Door on the Sea and I loved reading about the background that fed in to this story! Raven is a frustrating character but certainly adds some humor The Sparrow is one of my absolute favorites, hope you enjoy reading it this year!

Primal of Blood and Bone was absolute garbage and she destroyed the entire series with it. The novella she released after was damage control because everyone hated this book and could have been avoided if she actually followed the plot she’d been building for years. Pretty sure she used chatgpt to either write the book completely or to edit it. Either way, it went from a brilliant series to as if a novice writer picked it up.
