Ahhh…BookTube, a somewhat obscure part of the YouTube community that is full of a wide variety of bookish related videos. From book reviews, to book hauls, and to bookshelf tours, plus tons of fun book related tags, the BookTube community really is for anyone with a passion for reading!
If you’re looking for a place to connect with others over your love for a specific series or to simply ramble and rave with others about books in general, then dive into the world of BookTubers! Some of us may have seen videos from creators like Christine Ricco (polandbananasBOOKs) or Jesse George (Jessethereader), but today let’s look a little closer at some up and coming BookTubers with fantastic content on their channels.
Benjaminoftomes
Benjamin is a UK-based BookTuber. His channel has been gaining traction over the last few years for obvious reasons. With a huge, witty personality, viewers can’t help but to fall in love with his videos. His book reviews are lively and his book recommendations bring in a lot of lesser known books—perfect for anyone looking to branch out. Benjamin also runs his own micro-publishing company called OfTomes and he recently announced his debut novel, Cloaked in Shadow, will be released on December 18th.
MaureenKeavy
Maureen has been creating videos on YouTube for the last four years. She offers her viewers very relatable perspectives in her book talks and isn’t afraid to discuss how the book could have been better. She also has a website where she posts more in-depth and concise reviews on the books she has read. For anyone looking to grow their BookTube subscription list, definitely check out Maureen!
Squibblesreads
This channel is run by Joce (pronounced like Joss). Joce is a huge fan of thrillers and mysteries and most Thursdays she can be found discussing books related to that genre. Something else super awesome about her channel is that she has an ongoing video series called “Hidden Gems” where she talks about indie books or books that have not quite broken out in terms of popularity yet. It is a great recommendation type series that readers will love for finding their next favourite book.
Brandonthebookaddict
Brandon is BookTuber raised in California. Brandon loves a good stand alone and funnily enough, he hasn’t read Harry Potter yet—no worries though it is on his TBR! His videos are quite funny and will bring a smile to anyone’s face. An introvert at heart, his personality really shines through during is book reviews and especially during his tag type videos. Viewers definitely won’t want to miss his next video!
Shemightbmonica
Monica is another BookTuber with a big personality. She is funny, and viewers will be able to see the excitement she has towards whatever she is talking about. Viewers will appreciate the honesty that comes her book talks as she is definitely not afraid to speak her mind when it comes to her bookish opinions, which is very refreshing!
